View Full Version : Mum wanting casual nanny

Hi everyone,

I have returned to work (shiftwork) in December, and I have two children (4/1yrs).
Until recently I had a wonderful girl looking after my children on a casual basis, as my hours vary from week to week, and now she is moving up the coast. Does anyone know of a person that may be able to help me out. As my roster changes alot, I would need someone who is fairly flexible, reliable and be able to pick up my son from pre-school from time to time. Some weeks I may need them 5 hours and the other weeks 20 hours. It is very hard to find someone. I have tried all the agencies, and they cannot guarantee the same person everytime, and I would have to pay a placement everyday I had the person.

I know this is a big ask, but I would appreciate any help. It would be for the north side of Brisbane.

My sister was a nanny in the UK, so I asked her, but she needs to be working 20 hours plus every week, sorry. :(

Have you tried asking some of the staff at your sons pre-school?

If I had a car I'd be more than happy to help you out.

Not sure if I can help but I do some casual nannying at clayfield at the moment but I have two children of my own. I have been working for the same family for about 5 or so years now, just whenever they need me, so they are ok with me taking my own children if I need to. This doesn't suit everyone. My kids are 2yrs and 9wks. I also have a friend that lives at clayfield who is also looking for some casual work. Let me know what you think anyway. Hope I can be of some help or at least help you find someone close by.

I wish I had know earlier. Next time try Care for Kidz Nanny Agency, they have very good nannies/babysitters. I use them all the time. They are hard to get hold of, and you have to book in advance, as they get booked up pretty quickly. If I cant secure them then I try Anytime Babysitting. They have quite a few girls on the northside. Let me know how you go.
