Do you use detergent when washing your mcn's?

I selected always.
About half the normal amount. Sometimes less.

About 1/3 the normal amount, less if only doing small wash. Always use hot water too (unless just wet nappies and no dirty ones).

Usually about 1/3 strength in a small load, 1/2 strength in a big one.
Well what is better to wash them in?
Liquid
or
Powder?

Usually about half a scoop of powder, maybe 1/3 if it is a smaller load.
I use Amolin liquid - about 1/2 or less.
I use 1/2 of Purity Liquid
I use Planet Ark. Recommended amount is 2 dessertspoons. With all of my washing I use about 1 dsp or slightly less.
As far as powder vs liquid is concerned, I think it's about finding what works best for you. In cold weather I usually dissolved the powder in some warm water which helps to activate it straight away rather than 1/2 way through the wash.
It took me a couple of months to work out the right amount of detergent I needed to wash the nappies without leaving a residue. For the past 9 or so mths I've done the same routine - 1/2 detergent, cold water wash, line dry. If I haven't been able to line dry the nappies for over a week, and have had to resort to tumble drying alot, then I will do a hot wash but that's pretty rare.

I use the Planet ark, and I use 1.5 tablespoons for an almost full load 7.5 kg washing machine. I dissolve in hot water before putting it in. I was using Amolin, and used 1 cap full per load

I use detergent everytime, in hot water (hot wash, cold rinse, hot extra rinse).
I use a little toddler formula scoop- for the powder I have atm (and still have about 5kg left!) one scoop works out to be the perfect amount.

I use about 1/3 of the amount in a load and i always do.
about 1/3-1/2 scoop of omo sensitive powder
Is planet ark a powder?
Yes. There is Planet Ark and also Aware, which is another Planet Ark brand. The only difference between the 2 is Aware has a light fragrance, although it doesn't leave the smell on the clothes after washing (which is good as you're not meant to), but I still prefer to use the Planet Ark with no fragrance.

I use the Planet Ark Aware sensitive skin one, it says frangrence free on my box of aware, I thought Aware was just the sensitive skin one, and cause the regular planet ark doesn't say for sensitive skin

I use 1 cap full of Purity, that is 1/2. In hot water, as Purity doesnt have a strong scent so ive found the inserts still smell a fair bit if washed in warm or cold water.

Same here.

I use half the amount recommended of the Earth Choice laundry liquid.
Cold rinse, warm or cold wash depending on how they are dried !
1/3 of the reccomended scoop and 40 degrees then put it through a rinse and spin cycle again.
