How to get rid of washing machine smell?

Just wondering how to get rid of that wet sort of smell out of washing machines.

I have never had that mouldy smell before, but its all of a sudden happened.

My mum is having this smell happen too.

Is it something to do with vinegar?

add a cup of white vinegar to the wash cycle (without clothes in it)

You can also buy products like Dettol for washing machines, that kill bacteria etc in your washing machine, or something like that. Its a eucalyptus wash stuff.... but its a bit expensive!

try to run a really hot wash every now and then. don't leave wet clothes in it and leave the door open.

hot wash with no clothes and half a cup to a cup of white vinegar, and like other post said, try not to leave clothes in it and leave door/lid open
