Hi all, I am over in the UK and am having a naming ceremony for my daughter in about 2 weeks (I know I've left everything to the last minute!) I have one reading that I like from Winnie the pooh but am desperate to find something else good, appropriate, not too flowery and with some gravitas to go with it!! Someone has suggested the Gibran bit about children from the prophet and the Philip Larkin poem Born Yesterday but my partner isn't keen on either (too flowery & too miserable respectively). Any bright ideas anyone? Would be grateful for all help

Hi
I just did a search on google and come up with alot of things. I was looking for chrisenting rather than naming ceremonies, but put in for the search chirstening ceremony readings.

Here are just a couple of the links I came up with

http://www.ontariobaptisms.ca/religious.php

http://www.theopenmind.org.uk/worship/Rites/bapt_readings.html

They might be a bit too religious for what you are looking for but have a look you never know

I hope you find what you are looking for.
