I just read a weekly pregnancy email I get sent to me and it said:

· Your navel may suddenly pop inside out and remain as such until after the birth.

Do they really just 'pop' all of a sudden??

I was sure that they just gradually dissapeared!

I have a navel bar in which I need to change to a plastic one which I have waiting on stand by for when it 'gradually disapeared'!

So what really happens? Has anyones gone yet?

umm what happens is the belly button gradually goes out

it gets flatter and flatter, if your lucky you'll just have a flat belly button, but some do get a pokey out one by the end, it only pokes out a little bit

thats what i figured but that email made me wonder if all of a sudden my belly button was going to flatten in a matter of seconds!

With Mitch, mine never changed. Hopefully it won't this time either! I hate belly buttons, they're gross! :barf:

ya never know, mine just flattened with DS2 from memory, and mine flattens on sitting at the mo, so I might be a poper outer this time round

oh and on that thought, the ones that have already had kids, did you belly button go back to normal after bubs? cause mine was a real deep never ending belly button before being pregnant and it hasn't been the same since

My belly button went straight back to normal after DS's birth. I had my naval pierced before I fell pregnant with DS and removed it when my belly button went 'flat' coz it kept catching on everything! Oh and Nicole it was a gradual thing for me too. Then I got my naval re-pierced when DS was about 2 yrs old. I have already removed my piercing this time around as it started catching on things earlier this time! I will probably get it re-pierced when I finish having kids, if I still have a nice belly by then! :D

Pebbles, why do you take it out rather than putting a plastic bendable one in? Just wondering if there was a reason..

My belly button (an innie) has gotten a little flatter and, along with my protruding bump, is making my naval bar stick out... its one with a jewel on both ends so it almost looks as though my BB has already popped and is sticking out from under my top IYKWIM.

nicole I had a banana bell in my belly button when preg with DS2, I took it out at about 20 odd weeks cause it was anoying me lol, I figured the plasic one would anoy me too lol so didn't bother, cause it would still poke out, I probably could've kept my belly button peircing in if I could put up with it catching on everything

Hey there, My belly button stayed the same after my first son, I did have a naval ring, But I just peirced the ring back in everynight to keep the hole open... then after I had bubs I just put the ring back in.

But with this one, at about 20 weeks It was going red and sore, so I took it out, and it closed up almost imediately:(

But oh well, Im think it wont be as attractive after this one anyways.. lol

I had an inny with brad and yes it did go completely back to normal.. :D

Nicole - Yep I am the same as Jo, just figured if the metal one is annoying me the plastic one would be no better. Feels nicer to rub my little belly without a naval bar in the way!

Hey NicoleE

I'm glad you started this post. I also have a bar in my bb and haven't wanted to take it out yet (although it's getting a bit red at the top). My husband and family have given me flack about it but I figure it's up to me when I take it out.

Luckily it's a small one so it's not catching on much but same as you it looks like my bb has popped out already in some tops! I have the bioflex bendy one on standby also!! But it's a bit uglier so I'm trying not to use it. lol the vanity!
