First period after birth???

Can I just ask when people started their cycles again? Its 8 weeks after my son was born via caesar and I have started to bleed again but not sure if it may be my period?:eek:

tyler is 17weeks,,, and i still have not got my period's yet,,, i bleed for 5weeks after giving birth

Hi Kate...I had a c-section too, and bled for 7 weeks after birth. I think it was at about 9 weeks that i got my period again.....It sure makes up for it after 9 months without it, let me tell you! LOL

I got my period back in full when DS was 12 weeks old and I was exclusively breastfeeding... I had my after birth bleeding for about 5-6 weeks and then I had some light bleeding at about 9 weeks...

Elliot was born on the same day as my DD :D
I had a natural birth, and only bled for about 2weeks after the birth. I have just had a period, it's almost gone now :) It started last friday, so 7weeks after having bub. So your bleeding is probably a period...aren't we lucky to have them back so soon :rolleyes:

I got my periods about 20 months after with both my after birth bleeding was about a week. I breastfeed on demand day and night, didn't use dummies, formula or introduce solids early;)

More than likely it is if you have had a good break otherwise it may mean you have over done things (?) if had only just slowed down.
Everyone is different i bled forever it seemed something like 6wks or more but i did over do it so i was bad :o
Then i got my period approx 3wks or so after.

I bleed after i had Chloe for about 6 weeks & i haven't had my period yet.
I do breastfeed though.;)

i got my period back after 5.5 months. i was demand br'feeding. majorly bummed because i had heard of women who took 12-18 months or more to get theirs back :D

I bled for about 5 weeks after Ava was born & I gt my first period about a month after i stopped breastfeeding.
I have never had bad period pains, but I have just had my second period & I was in agony both times! They are a bit irregular too. Hopefully all that settles down in time.

Aj is nearly 1 and still no period! I still breast feed him once a day and pre-pregnancy I only got light periods for 1day anyway!

I too am exclusively b/f but low and behold, 8 weeks after birth I have my period - and boy don't i know it! YUK! :eek:

I got my period until 9weeks after my birth and since then I have had a series of 'breakthrough bleeding' all I can say is EVERY woman is differnt and NOTHING is normal ... just look at this tread for example!!!:rolleyes:

I guess everyones so different. My daughter has just turned one and Ive only had one cycle since having her. :eek:
