View Full Version : sorry need a vent re dh's ex- sorry long
my dh is at work and has been away for nearly 3 weeks and is due home on friday. his ex called on thursday and asked me to have dsd last night and then she said i could take her to ballet. i said i couldnt as i had plans for sat morning. 8.30am this morning ex calls and says she cant make it as she has run out of petrol and she would pick her up after the first lesson from my house. no problem. then we get home from the first ballet lesson of the day and get a call from the ex, sorry cant make it you will have to take her to the next class and pick her up and she would collect her from my place after. (in the meantime dsd is really annoyed with her mum). had to wake ds from his nap to go to the second class. so wasnt happy about that either. the ex was waiting when i got home with dsd and while she got her things, i had stern words with the ex and had a go as she stuffed up my day and she said its only one day (she does this to me all the time) and then she said its not her fault her car ran out of petrol!!!! i cant work out who's fault it was that she had no petrol in her own car. (probably mine in her mind) aaarrrrggghhh she drives me nuts. :banghead: :banghead:
sorry to rattle on but i was so angry i was shaking. thank you all for listening. i did feel good for standing up for myself though.
Not much to say here - except to say - we're out here to listen to your vents!
It can be very frustrating to try to lead your life with your kids and fit into someone else's life too......
Oh and yes, about who's fault it is? Of course it's your fault she ran out of petrol - the same as everything's always about me in my hubby's ex's mind. Like yesterday when she said she wanted me to hav DSD and I said no as I have a sick 10month old who isn't fully immunised and DSD is sick with a virus. She then tells me she doesn't care about my kids and I only think about myself. Oh and the reason she originally said she wanted us to have DSD this weekend is because she said she needs a break (found out later she's broken up with boyfriend).

Hi there
Its always just so nice to know Im not the only one who leads this crazy annoying wonderful frustrating stepparenting life!
You are not alone. Its been my fault the ex has had no petrol heaps of times! :shame: lol
Its extremely convenient she always seems to have enough to get to her own social events however!
I cant wait for the day its the stepkids with no petrol so I can at least make them mow my lawn to earn some money to buy some!
Take care Megan
