Hello out there! My name is Melissa and I have a delicious baby boy Zachariah who is 13 months. I would dearly love any advice regarding teething., ie remedies, medicines, etc for Zac , and for myself - do they make economy size boxes of Valium??
Would also greatly appreciate any info regarding playgroups or mothers groups in the Kangaroo Point area or within 15/20km, as I would dearly love to join in.

Thanks

Melissa

I have heard that brauers teething relief is really good. I think we may be beginning that battle ourselves.........either that or cranky baby.

Melissa - just have to say, your username is fantastic! George's dad was always my favourite character!!

And LMAO yes I think they do make economy size boxes of valium.......!!!

We never had much trouble with Vallerie teething [*ducking now to avoid everyone throwing things at my head*] but we kept her teething ring-thingys in the freezer so they were cold on her little mouth. If you're still breastfeeding, you can make breast-pops for him to gum on. Or even just put a wet-ish flannel in the freezer for a while, let him chew and suck on that.

:D

Thanks Ishmael and Kirsty for your replies, didn't mean to be rude, by not replying to this thread - stuffed up thread thing and did new thread titled Aarrggh, in which I thanked you for your replies... and sigh, now Iam just making it worse - if you haven't written me off as very strange, please, please reply to this ...or Aarrgghh.

Once again, thanks for your teething info - am gonna try it all.

Take care

Melissa

Okay, I'm going to give my best ever teething remedy another plug (note to self: start getting a 'spotters fee'LOL!)
Spencers Amcal Pharmacy makes their own teething elixir and it's THE BEST!
They are in Watsonia, Victoria but they do take orders over the phone and will send it to you. I (as well as all of my friends) have found this really works and gives bubs a good night's sleep without pain.
Let me know if you want to try it and I'll find the address & phone number for you.
It's amazing stuff!:D

Hi Melissa!
I use Iprofen (cheaper brand Neurofen) but exactly the same! and also used to give DD a 'teether' it's like a dummy but shaped in a curve to sit along the gum. I used to put it in the fridge and she would just chew on it cold. It seemed to help her though. When she was first teething I tried everything from the Breuers teething relief to panadol etc. I guess some babies handle it all differently though.
Although Carlyb, if I she ever has trouble again I will have to get that number off you!

As for helping you though...buy some valium in bulk and save!:D

Hiya,
Thanks carlyb and charliebum for your wisdom - bracing myself for another onslaught tonight, or I may just wear some bovver boots to bed so I can kick my dear heart who allegedly doesn't hear him.

I have tried the cold washer and teething rings to no avail, so carlyb, if we have another bad night, I may just take you up on your offer.

He is usually such a delightfully happy baby, and i hate seeing him in pain, breaks my heart......we sobbed together for a while today and then he stuck his finger in my eye and he laughed and laughed....i may be rasing a little sociopath!!

Thanks again

Melissa
