Hi all

Can anyone help me with what to write in my letter of resignation?
My leave is up in a few weeks and I have decided not to return as I feel it is too soon to go back as bubby is only 22 weeks.
I had Hyperemesis during my pregnancy:barf: and went on sick leave at 6 weeks. When all my sick leave and leave without pay ran out I had to start maternity leave.
Management were very understanding and I want to leave on good terms. Any suggestions??

Thanks:)

When I finished up work during maternity leave I just googled resignation letters and there are some excellent examples

I took a bit of this, bit of that and made the perfect letter :D They have templates for you to use too.

Good luck!

My suggestion:

Just be honest, upfront, concise and sincere...something along the lines of:

"The purpose of my letter is to regretfully inform you of my decision to resign from my position of _______ __________, without returning from maternity leave.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the many opportunities that I have been afforded whilst in your employ. I would also like to express my deepest gratitude for the great compassion shown to me whilst I was so unwell during my pregnancy. The kindness of the HR staff and my colleagues made an exciting, but extremely difficult time in my life so much easier to cope with.

Sincerely,

Charli's Mummy"

Of course, you may want to play with the wording, but feel free to use any, all or none of the above! :p
