Hi everyone, i normally hang out in the "first cycle in few days" section... well we cant afford to try that way now. Not for now anyway. I guess im looking for some light at the end of the tunnel. Im wondering if anyone else has conceived when there were issues with it before, and then its just happened. DH had a vasectomy a few years ago, then was divorced, we met, and he had it reversed, now we want a baby together, and we had to try ICSI... it didnt work, and now we cant afford another go for a while, we have ordered some vitamins over the net, for fertility, i thought it was worth a try. I guess im wondering if its at all possible, or is it just wishful thinking....

MelJem - I can't help with that one I'm sorry!! One of my very good friends was diagnosed with Crones disease (which is a disease of the bowel) She had many operations from the age of 20 onwards. She married at the age of 34 and started ttc!! With her fall bowel removed, plenty of scar adhesions, DH only had 36% fert rate in his sperm and 3 IVF attempts later still BFN!! They went away after such trauma of trying through IVF and bango, Preg!!

I know that it's your DH that is the issue here but I just thought that I would let you know about my friend to say that, anything is possible!! You just have to cross all avenues and see what happens. I'm so sorry to hear of you going through such heartache and constant disappointment, it can't be easy. I'm sure that you will find the help and advice that you need from this site, I have in many issues, it's great!! I see it as a free counseling session!!

Good luck and I'll pop in to see how all is going.

Chin Up in the meantime!!

xxxxx

youngmum3 Hi there:wave: Thanks so much for responding, i really appreciate it. My mum and grandmother went through menopause early, so the doctor thought i might be heading that way soon too. When i have tried IVF i dont get many eggs, so thats why they thought that. I still get AF each month though, so i guess thats a good sign. I am trying to keep my chin up. I do have two beautiful children, but i had them in my 20s and now im mid 30s, so i guess you never know. DH is getting a sperm test done in the next week or so, just to see how its all going. So we will see. Thanks again, i really appreciate you taking time to tell me the story of your friend, its great to hear good things like that. Take care xx

Hi, sorry to hear what you have been through. I am posting this as it sounds similar to me. We have been through 2 years ICSI now with no success (we do have one boy which took 9 cycles to work. My body is tired as it has been 5 years total with IVF. My doctors have recommended a break while I try to get strong again - both physcially and mentally. I have just ordered some of Ruth Sharkey's forumla and it should arrive in 5 weeks as I am looking for some miracle. Also joined the gym just to try to feel better in myself.

The drugs that you ordered was that Ruth Sharkey's as well?

judybear5 Hi, i have signed up with the Sharkeys healing centre, and i get emails from them. I ordered these through a site i found on the net, i really dont know if they are ok or not, but i didnt think we could afford the sharkeys stuff?? Is it expensive? I ordered two bottles each of this stuff, for my husband and i, its called fertilaid. I was just looking for something to work. I started a couple of days ago, so will see how we go. Would love to hear how you go with Sharkeys, i have wanted to try them. Maybe i should.

I had also hesitated over the cost but desparate times............

I was surprised to find out that it was $150 for a bottle which should last roughly 6 weeks. in the $150 you also get your consulation. I live in Brisbane and usually they make you drive down but at the moment they have a backlog of 6 weeks for an appointment so they are letting people do it over the internet. I only ordered it yesterday and it should arrive in about 5 weeks time. I was surprised it was only $150 as in my mind I expected it to be much more expensive.

I have a history of PCOS, Endometriosis and pre-cancer cells so any help they can give me I would love.

judybear5 Really? Wow thats not a bad price. I paid around $160 and that was for two bottles of tablets for DH and two for me, but you take 3 a day, so its going to last us 2 months for both of us, plus i got some special tea to drink and other bits and pieces. But i still think thats a good price you paid. How do they know what is suitable for you? Do you just ring them? Everyone is different so how do they know what to send?

I started by looking at their site over the internet (I think it is sharkey medical centre). I read up on the info and being a member you can start using their temperature chart straight away as you do this once taking the formula. Next I rang the centre and asked them a few questions. I filled out the forms over the computer and made payment by credit card. The next step is that a person will ring me for my consultation over the phone and after that they will put my special blend together and send it up to me. I have now recorded my temperature for 2 days. It is a good way to keep a record of when your get your cycle as well.

Hi,

My sister in law & her hubby had been trying for a few years, then found out she had problems with her ovaries. They went down the path of IVF after being told there wasn't any way she would naturally have children. She had a success with IVF after a few rounds. Her son was born Dec 05. After that, her & hubby decided to not bother with contraception since what was the point :D . She is now 20 weeks with her second pregnancy - completely natural. Don't know if this is really relevant to your situation, I'm guessing it all depends on what the issue is in the first place, but either way, hope it gives you a little hope :) .

Hi Meljam

Sorry to hear that your TTC journey hasn't been going well :hugs: . I hope that the fertilaid works for you and DH. I am having problems of a different kind - I have weird and looooong cycles. I have just started acupuncture, which was recommended by a lot of girls on this site. Only started on Tuesday (hoping it will regulate my cycles), so looking forward to having more of it. Despite having needles poked into you, it is actually very relaxing!!!! The acupuncturist is confident that it will help me. I don't know if you have tried it before but if not, it may be something else to consider.

Best of luck to you and to you too judybear5

My SIL had her frist daughter via IVF, then fell preg naturally with her 2nd DD, then fell preg again (not TTC) with her 3rd DD inbetween contraception.... so I guess it is possible... she has also just discovered cysts on her ovaries in her 3rd pregnancy....

TwoPinkFaireez Hi there, thanks so much for your response, its great to hear the different stories of people and their friends. Thats great news for your SIL. How amazing is that, having to go through IVF then having two naturally. Thats great.

jen3 Thank you for your reply, i appreciate it. I really hope you have success with accupuncture, yes ive been told by a few girls on the other threads to try it, saying it was good. Im a chicken, hate needles, but if it helps, then i guess its an option i should look into. My cycles are a bit all over the place, some can be 24 days, some 28, so its hard to know when is the right time to try.... Goodluck xx

Chumps Hi there, thanks for responding. Yeah everyone is different, but i love to hear all the different stories, and i think its fantastic when people get a natural pregnancy after thinking there is nothing other than medical intervention to help.

judybear5 Thanks for the info, i am going to look into that now. Its worth it, ive heard some fantastic feedback from that site. Thanks again.

Hi Meljem

The acupuncture needles don't actually hurt, and in a bizarre way, the whole session is very relaxing!!! I don't think it would matter at what stage your cycle is to start. I'm somewhere in CD80's (stopped counting, too depressing) and she said that was ok to start there.

Thanks for your kind wishes and hope you find something to help you make your dream come true!! :fingerscrossed:

jen3 Goodmorning, thanks for the info, i have heard different things, some say it hurts, others not. My DH has tried it, not sure what it was for, was before we met, anyway, he said it didnt hurt, said it was quite relaxing. I will look into it. Have a good day.

Hi Meljem
i've been away, so sorry this is a bit late coming. You are welcome to come and chat in the May / June Testing Calendar for Long Term TTC and Assisted Conception. There are a few girls there who are 'in-between' - IVF cycles or taking a break like you, and also those using other forms of Assisted conception.

a friend of mine was told she was sterile!!!! she had 4 attempts at IVF but ran out of funding. then lo and behold, the sterile woman sleeps with a friend and bam preggers. told hse wouldnt concieve again and that it was a fluke, she fell preggers with her DD2 when her 1st was just 6 months old. the docs were shocked and told her how lucky she was. then bam DD2 gets to 8 mths old and shes preggers with number 3. lmao. tihs supposedly sterile woman and she having her 3rd. after 4 IVF attempts failing. she was taking these tablets called 'false unicorn root' apparently they stimulate healthy Ovulation.

Mummy2Marius Hi, thanks for that story. I have read on another thread that someone had a friend who used those unicorn tablets & got pregnant after TTC with no luck. I will have to look into them. Im trying fertilaid at the moment so is DH.

We kinda did it the other way around....................after a year taking tonics and vitamins through a fertility naturopath we did one cycle of IUI, then had a month off (cause we went on holidays) and I fell pg naturally that month

I'm sure it was more to do with the fact that I had been following the naturopath's regime for a year, so there is hope for you!!
