Hi everyone,
Is there anyone out there that has got pregnant when they are carring a little too much extra weight? I am completely healthy except a little too big at the moment and i am worried it will prevent me from getting my:bfp: , and that fact that my mother tells me i wont get preg doesnt help.
I would love to hear anyones inspirational stories, i know it is different for everyone.
Cheers

I have fallen pregnant 4 times and it was only the last 2 pregnancies that were successful and these were both during a time where I am overweight. To be quite honest I wouldn't think being "a little overweight" would make too much of a difference in most cases but putting too much pressure on yourself when TTC can cause problems

I am 90kg and my FS has said nothing to me......I asked and she said it doesn't really matter because I am doing IVF......but I do know what you mean I too get a bit worried about it....I am in the same boat as you as I feel very healthy but am a bit overweight, but I have put on about 15kg with my fertility drugs I have been on, so when I started ttc I was around 75kg to 80kg......

I was about 90kgs when I fell pregnant with my DD and about the same when I fell pregnant in Jan this year, but M/C'd. I am constantly being told, by doctors/specialists etc., to lose weight as it can affect my chances of having a child. Eating healthy foods, exercising and losing weight will all increase my chances apparently :fingerscrossed:. So that's what I'm trying to do and hopefully soon I'll get a :bfp: :yelclap: .

I was overweight when I got preg - first cycle. It is best to be a healthy weight but still very doable :) good luck with ttc
I was 83kg when I fell pregnant, it took us 9 months, but it happened lol.

One thing I must add is that when drs/specialists etc continually tell me that losing weight will increase my chances :ecomcity: :ecomcity: , it is really frustrating seeing women who are alot larger than I am pregnant. My DD does swimming with a little boy and his mum is extremely large (I would think about 130kgs??). Anyway, we were having lessons a couple of weeks ago and the teacher said 'oh ange musn't be here today - maybe she has bad morning sickness' and I thought WTF? How can SHE be pregnant, I'm having trouble getting pregnant and she's alot larger than I am  . I also have a friend who is 120kgs and she conceived straight away with her 2 DD's. I know it's not the case, but sometimes I think, am I the only overweight person who is having trouble conceiving and maintaining a pregnancy?? Gggrrrrr, so frustrating.

emsmum72, i know exactly what ur talking about and i get quite upset when i see a extremly large ladies with babies and me being 90kg and constantly getting told to lose weight really annoys me. I know a few larger ladies that have no trouble at all getting pregnant.
Im just one of the few that havent had that luck yet.

It's so annoying isn't it Dubba? Guess it just goes to show that we are all so different, and what can be difficult for one person is not so difficult for another. I must admit that I fell pregnant the 1st time 6 months after losing 12kgs so obviously for me it helped?? BUT, I do think that was because I was eating alot healthier, and cut out all the c**p I used to eat - eating healthy food is more the key I think, as I know first hand women much larger than me are capable of falling pregnant. Goodluck to everyone :fingerscrossed: . Let's prove those drs who constantly tell us to lose weight wrong, LOL, and get some :bfp: 's happening.

Congrats ttcin, that's fantastic news :yelclap: . Good on you for proving the theory. I'm sure your BFP's are accurate, and the dr will confirm that you are pregnant. Hope you have a wonderful pregnancy, and I wish you all the luck in the world. :hugs:
Wow what a great turn in a thread congratulations!
I am extremley overweight and my FS told me that I could weigh 3 stone ro 33 stone and still not ovulate. Obviously there might be a strain on my body being heavier but still does not mean I cant fall pregnant..if I dont ovulate I dont ovulate.
