Hello,

Dont know if this post belongs here, I couldnt decide to put it in bottlefeeding or sleep...
Anyways this week has been hell with my bub, all of a sudden she has stopped sleeping through, and she has also gone off her bottle, i have to force her to drink it but then she crys all the time because shes hungry. Her milk intake has dropped as she just doent want to drink it. Ive tried a different formular but it didnt help, she's not sick, she doesnt have constipation, no wind, no reflux, she doesnt seem to be teething (I think), really there is nothing physically wrong with her that I can tell. I really dont know what to do, has anyone else had this happen, anyone have advise??? Id love any suggestions, as I dont want to go to the CHN, as she is so c#@p, and I cant get into the Dr until next thursday, not that I think its a medical problem. Please HELP!!!

When you say "force her to drink" what do you mean? I had to learn to trust my DD to know when she was hungry and some days she just didn't want to drink as much. If I tried to force her she would just vomit the whole lot back up at me. If she's feeling a bit ill or has a sore tummy to start with then making her drink would just make her feel worse and hence the crying. It might be hunger making her cry between feeds or before a usual feed, but if she's crying after she's drunk then it's probably something else and needs to be checked out.

Is she refusing all bottles, or just some during the day? Or is she just not drinking as much of each one as she usually would? If she's refusing all bottles and drinking nothing then I would be concerned about her dehydrating very quickly and would be going off to the hospital within a day. If it's just one or two bottles out of a regular 5 or 6 per day, or she's not drinking as much of each one, and she's still having enough wet nappies then I'd wait a few days to see if she just resumes her previous feeding pattern on her own.

I have to agree with what MarthaM has said if she is just off one or two bottles dont stress by bubs does this from time to time be more worried if she hasnt got wet nappies or not having anything as ive just recently learnt the difference not fun !
Try offering her some water at other times even if she just has a mouthful here & there its at least some fluids in her tummy or even put her in a bath with a face washer if she wants to suck on that & have some water when its hot is also another good tip.
Bubs go through stages so try not to stress too much she will let you know when she really is hungry & she may just feel a little off & doesnt want milk as it makes her feel a bit too full IYKWIM.
Hopefully she settles down soon.

Sounds a bit like my daughter when she was little. I have sent you a pm.
