View Full Version : Target Nappies??? What are they??
In target they have what looks like a fitted cloth nappy made out of polar fleece 2 layers and a bit of plastic. Does anyone know what I am talking about?
I am looking for a nappy just for night for my toilet trained toddler who wets his night nappy about once a month.
Taget also have another nappy that has like a mesh inside it and a fleece cover. Does this go over a terry flat?? I am so confused I was a sposies mum but since I won't be going straight back to work with this one thought I might try cloth.
i've seen them.
Honestly I don't think they'd be much good.
If you're planning on switching to cloth then it's better to get something a bit more reliable. like a Very Baby Simply Nights, or a Good Night Sleep Tight.
Or if it's only for once a month a properly stuffed Dreamytimes, or Green Kids Anytime could work. Even a Haute or Bumgenius properly boosted could work!
I'd steer clear of target fitteds though... :detective:
Where are all these types of nappies stocked?

i got some Big W fitteds, sounds like the same sort of thing you were talking about. they rn't too bad. i'm on a strict budget and have only just changed to cloth and these r only $4ea. i have one pea pod and booster and i prefer to use the Big W with a flat folded inside. and a plastic pilcher over. my DD undoes the velcro easily so i pin the nappy on instead of using the velcro. i think it comes down to budget and person prefference (sp?).
Thanks. Thats the thing I don't want to spend much either just in case I don't use them.

Have you thought about getting perhaps some cloth training pants - not the type that you find at Big W etc these are alot better quality. Their are all different brands (they may seem expensive but are sooooo much better than the Fluffies nappies you mentioned. And you can just use them as undies;)

Are you sure these are nappies and not pilchers (cheap nappy covers)? Usable nappies have absorbent layers of cotton, bamboo, hemp or microfibre. The only fitted nappies you're likely to find in Target are cheapo nappies made of flanny or terry plus or minus some synthetic wadding.
Cheap store pilchers usually have one layer of PVC (plastic), plus or minus the mesh, with an outer of either cotton or polyester fleece. These are designed to go over either a flat or fitted nappy, but they aren't very good - modern cloth nappy covers are heaps better (more breathable, more durable, no PVC toxins, less leaks...) :)
Check out the stickies here and the FAQ and Links at the site I help with (ozclothnappies.org) for a starting point.
