Help 3 Month old hates day sleeps??

Its getting harder and harder Noah hates his day sleeps he is so cranky if he doesnt have them!! He goes to sleep in my arms but as soon as i put him down he starts crying!!!!:banghead: :banghead:

Does anyone have any ideas of getting him to sleep in his own bed and on his own???

Here are some suggestions i could think of but hopefully some other bub hubbers can help.

Have you tried wrapping him and rocking him until he is nearly asleep. When he is just about asleep, put him down and just pat his bum or chest the same rythmn as your heartbeat. By wrapping him, you should stop him startling himself awake again. Slowly over time pat him less and once he is in the groove of going down in his bed, try putting him in awake.

You could also try noise. TV, vacuum cleaner, radio, etc. If he is used to noise in the house, his room might be a bit quiet.

Also try taking one of your worn shirts and placing it in his cot for him to sleep on. Then he will have your smell close by.

My DD sleeps wrapped and on her side with a rolled up cloth nappy against her face :eek: (i know it sounds dreadful but really isn't that bad). When she was a baby, she loved snuggling her head into my chest and would fall asleep almost suffocating herself against me, so i tried putting her on her side and she now goes to sleep really well (staying asleep is another matter :rolleyes: ).
