I recieved my first ever mcn's today, a happy heiny and a hautes. Now, how many times do I need to pre wash them and how?? And also, can they be done together or will the die from the haute (berry) one run a bit and ruin the heiny one (maily white)
Oh and do I need to dry them in between washes or just rewash them right away again?
Oh and more lol... do I pre wash the boosters and liners etc?

prewash everything
if its hemp or bamboo your best off giving it 3 washes before use
you dont need to dry them in between washes either
the dies wont run throw them all in together
you can wash them in temp up to 60 degrees

snap Kristy!
if your hanging them in the sun to dry then cold is fine with occasional hot wash
but if your going to dry them in the drying then a hot wash is better

i also find that hot water tend to rid rid of all the newborn poo
where as the cold doesn't tend to remove all of it, and i have to do a quick rinse cycle to get rid of the last bits
sorry TMI

HA HA clever girl for asking this question. i didn't and spent days and days over the weekend washing my BBB nappies then waiting for them to dry, then washing all over again! Wish I had asked this question and they could have been on Oli's bum much faster!
Enjoy them! Cherry

Yup, and the sun will help remove Stains. (Those Newborn poos are just lovely ).

and sanitise them at the same time
the suns a great thing!
For the first wash though, it doesn't matter if they are sanitised or not :D Although for hemp it is best to have hot, as it will help strip it of it's natural oils that will actually repel liquid...
Is perfectly fine to wash in cold! I emailed Davina at Baby Beehinds when I fist got mine and she said, yep you can wash MCN's in cold... it will just take a few more washes for them to shrink properly and reach their maximum absorbancy.
I washed everything together. But now I've got some more new ones and I'm waiting on some others... so I'll put all those through together.
I heavily suggest also getting some flats if you don't already have them... they are a life saver when the drying weather isn't the best.
