Naming MCNs for daycare

Hi everyone,

I am currently sending DS's GKs to daycare with a very attractive strip of masking tape beneath the aplix with his name written on it! Not highly effective if someone swipes it, but my best idea so far! :o

How do you name your MCNs? If you sew a label on, is there a good spot where it won't rub?

Could you print the name with permanant marker on the inside of the PUL at the opening at the back? Shouldn't wash off that way. If you sew it on, i'd sew it on the inside, not the PUL. Maybe again on the inside of the openeing.

What about those iron-on naming labels? We were given some for dd1 when she first started school for her uniforms, etc.

Sorry, I do the same as you, very attractive masking tape! I tend to send just a flat now for coming home, daycare provides cloth flats for when he is there (how good are they?!).

I didn't want to permantly mark our mcn's in case we sell them!

No one else at our daycare uses MCN, so i don't name ours. But maybe if you get the iron on labels and iron it onto the top inside of the suedecloth?

Identity Direct has really cute iron-on labels which could work on some nappies - not sure what heat you have to iron them on at, and if that'd be safe for GKs or not.

TBH I haven't bothered with labelling mine as Jet's the only bub in cloth at his daycare place, so there's no mistaking who they belong to.

You could try emailing Sasha at green kids to see what they suggest? Just an idea :D

Thanks for the great ideas! I might try and sew something on, so I can take it off later if I need to sell! SOLVED! :thumbsup:
