Anyone else have this? (Might sound yucky!)

I had a c/section 7 weeks ago and I noticed that part of the dissolvable stitch is sticking out of the end of the incision site. It is sticking out about half a cm. I have tugged at it to see if it will come out but it seems pretty intent on staying. I know I probably should have had a doctor look at it, but for some reason I kept hoping it would just fall out or something.....stupid I know! Anyway, I am seeing a doctor about it, but I was wondering if anyone else experienced this and what happened? Do they just pull it out? I am assuming this is what will happen which I am not looking forward to.:thumbsdown:

Yep, actually I did have that! And I just cut it out myself with a pair of scissors! :laughing:

i had this with my first c-section i went to the doctors and yes he cut it and pulled it out scary thought but it didn't really hurt that much

oh thank god someone else had it! i was thinking of cutting it also, but i wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not. did you feel a little lump also, like where they knotted the stitch?

Yep I actually had two ends sticking out that were knotted together. I cut the knot and pulled the loose bits out.

In that case I wouldn't recomend trying to cut it out yourself! :laughing: Perhaps a quick trip to the doctors is in order.

yep did the same it got infected I washed it with saline and it healed no issues :D lol

was it quick and easy? god i can't believe I am worried about 2 seconds of little pain after going through 2 weeks of excruciating pain!!!:laughing:

Yeah see that was why I didn't want to mess with it, because the thought of infection worried me!

My friend severly broke her leg & ankle, and we noticed a dark patch under the skin on her ankle. Turned out it was an internal stitch, she left it and it worked it's way out. Just keep the area really clean if you don't want to see a GP, boiled water and some dissolved salt will work.

I had some stitch poking out one end of my cs too. I noticed it when I was home after taking of the steri strips.
I whent back into hospital all in a huff becuase they didn't take out my stiches.
But all was fine as I had had internal disolvable stitches and that's how it was finished off.

I just shaved it off one day when I was mantaining the area:o

Thanx guys! I ended up cutting because it was really bugging me, so far so good, no infection or anything!
