Different nappies suit different babies. Was there a paticular brand you were eyeing off?

My fav's at the moment are (keep in mind some ppl hate these nappies).:

Twins in Cloth
Berry Plush
Swaddlebees
Baby Beehinds
Bits for Bots

Have a look at the cloth section and check out the reviews
My faves are made by wahms so not easy to get.
You could try trial packages and see how you go :)

I vote Greenkids pockets - just lurve them to bits!!!

Kymmy, how do I get my hands on the ones you mention? I'd love to know who to contact to broaden my "nappy horizons" :D

My favourite going out nappies are, honeyboys, itti bittis and berry plush.
Super hard to get, quite exy but great show off nappies.

My fav night nappy is baby beehind bamboo.

My fav at home nappy/ DH and MIL proof nappy in green kids. ( want to try bumgenius aio/pockets and monkey doodles)

But my most versatile nappy when using creams on nappy rash, or just as a puke rag are my terrys with bummis covers.

I like fitteds and woollies best.
Pookey Pockets quick dry fitteds are my fave fitted.
Also Bits For Bots and Beetlebums. Check out ozebaby too as well as WAHMania for wahm made cloth nappies.

I think that most of the nappies that are sold by reputable nappy sellers are good nappies - they wouldn't sell them otherwise. I always shop at the wee wuns, darlings downunder, baby soft landings and natures cradle. These web stores have a variety of different, quality nappies - All in ones, fitteds, covers, pockets etc. You could also try emailing the owners of the sites for help with what would suit your bub regarding size and style, etc.

I would recommend buying a few different types - don't buy a bulk pack of anything until you have tried it for a week or so. Also, feel free to come on here and ask us for our experiences of different nappies :D

I think it depends as to what you want in a nappy.

I want them to work and last a few hours between changes, I want them to not take 100 years to dry, I want them to be easy and I want them to fit under regular clothes easily.

I didn't want to stuff around with covers and fitteds (though I've just recieved a BBB and am awaiting a cover so I can see how they go through the night), and I've found that AIOs don't last as long and take forever to dry (even the ones with the snap-in bits).

I prefer pocket nappies because I can control how absorbant they are, and therefore how long they last. I also find them, overall, to be trimmer than AIOs or fitteds... and I don't have to worry about covers.

I don't really care about cute patterns or anything, so I think I've only got 2 that have patterns - my BubbleBubs AIO and my Happy Heiny pocket. The rest are just plainly coloured.

I love my Swaddlebees Pockets (I have an AIO too, which also has a pocket part, so I can stuff it as well), as they're ultra-trim and are a low-waisted design... which means they fit better under pants. They're a bit expensive though.

And, I also like PeaPods. They're really quite cheap (under $20 for a pocket nappy, a hemp or bamboo insert... but bamboo is more expensive... and a wetbag), and I find they work really well. They're not as nice-looking as some others, but they do the job.

For night we like fitteds with p.u.l covers (thank goodness the days of pvc piltchers are over!) or preferably handknitted longies.
Fitteds we like include:
Very Baby Simply Nights (VBSNs)
Good Night Sleep Tight by Bubblebubs (GNSTs)
Baby Beehinds -in bamboo (BBBs)
And I have a Dream-Eze which doesn't work for us as a night nappy but is a trim fitted which looks great under a cute knitted soaker/longies/shorties.

For Ronan, during the day, we use Pocket Nappies.
- Green Kids (GKs)
- Happy Heiny
- BumGenius
- FuzziBuns
And my favourite, the Swaddlebee organic velour side-snap pockets

Oh and we also love Berry Plush's and Itti Bitti AIOs are awesome but hard to get.

I really recommend you have a good read of the sticky's for more information, and ask us any questions you have! :D

My favorite nappies are fitteds with hand knitted woolies.

Specifically I like....

Bits for Bots
Cuddlebuns
Pookey Pockets Quick Dry Fitteds
Baby Beehinds (bamboo for night, hemp for day)

I have a few pockets and Berry Plushes but I rarely use them.

Wow thanks girls, you are full of info. It's going to take me about a week to figure it all out. All the different abbreviations etc.. Last night I was looking up all about them and then when I went to sleep I had a dream I bought some.. weird..

Thank you so much for all the info..

Oh yes, the dreaming! That happens here a lot  It's so overwhelming to begin with, but just keep asking questions and reading up on it all, there's so many gorgeous nappies out there... Cloth has come such a long way  Particually in how they are cared for- no soaking etc.

Until a few days ago I thought cloth nappies were still a very large unattractive white square.. They have definitely come a long way..

My son isn't big at all and I found that the closer he was to age 2 the less the bumgenius fitted him. He would be walking and then stick out his belly slightly and the velcro would come undone.

I would definately go with Baby Beehinds bamboo though! Good for any age!

Yep, a great nappy- don't be turned off because it needs a cover (fitteds need covers, pockets need inserts) because bamboo fitteds can be excellent overnight.

I agree...a Baby Beehinds is an excellent nappy. You cant really go wrong. A must have for any stash.

I have 5 bamboo ones and 3 hemp terry ones...I really like the old style hemp terry...I would like to try the new hemp fleece too.

I find the Bumgenius fit fine on my boys. They're almost 2 and a half and are long in the leg but not 'skinny' they are small waisted thouhg. Maybe just get a trial pack.. or borrow one from someone to see how it works for you.
