Hello Penrith people, I am due in June 06 and my husband and I have decided to move from the lower north shore to Penrith when I'm about 8 months pregnant - finish work and move all at the same time - Oh My God!!!!
Went out there this weekend and it seems like a nice place to raise children????!!!!! Plenty of parks etc, is there a better side of town for families????? Is there anything REALLY negative about the area - is certainly cheap to rent there - other than being hot and no where near the beach just seemed like a nice family community.
Are there plenty of playgroups???? I am a nanny and looking at becoming a nanny mummy after July - Aug - Is there much demand for nannies in the area???
Any advice would be hugely appreciated
Thanks:D

Hi Kiwibird...
It is a fantastic area to raise families! :) There are MANY suburbs surrounding penrith that are great for families...one in particular is South Penrith ... beautiful place for families :)
I've lived here my whole life too...i live in North Cranebrook at the moment which is 10-15 min drive from Penrith (city centre)....Theres nothing really negative about the area at all! I mean there are surrounding areas that aren't as nice as others but you get that anywhere you go....thats al i can think of! The beach is only an hour and a half drive so its still close enough to go to...we always go down to the Wollongong beaches.
Theres plenty of shops etc...a big westfield with everything you need!
There are lots of playgroups! Im not so sure about nanny's, but i do know there are quite a few mums who do the whole Home Daycare Thing....You'd have to look into whether Nannys are in demand around here...but from all the mums i know, there aren't many who have nannies, as they are quite expensive too. Many mums stay home, send their children to daycare or have a family member able to look after them.
Feel free to pm me regarding anything...happy to help :)
Congrats on your first pregnancy! Hope all is well!
Take care,
Natalie
