We tried CC *MY* way on Saturday night, starting with 15 seconds of crying, increasing by 15 seconds at a time. (I couldn't do the start at 2 minute thing!) The longest we got to was 2 min 45 seconds.

Took 30 minutes Saturday night, took 2 minutes Sunday night and took 5 seconds of crying last night!! AND Last night Will slept from 8pm till 2:40am  :D

To cut a long story short, he has been very frequently waking since 4mo, and we've been co-sleeping since he was 5mo, but now that he is way too mobile, it's not safe to have him in our bed while we're not there, so something had to be done to get him to sleep in his cot.

I just can't believe it was that easy - last time we tried it, was when the CHN told me to get rid of the dummy cold turkey... well, he still has the dummy, but only for sleep time (he won't comfort suck with the breast if he's full).

Just had to share - it doesn't have to be done by the book to work, for those of us softer mums and sensitive babies!

That's fantastic! I'll have to keep that in mind, because I don't think I could stand hearing a bub cry for that long - but it seems to be something that works. Good to know that you can shorten the time you have to wait.

Just curious though - how old is your son now?

Btw - bet you are so glad to get some rest now!!! :)

He is 7.5 months old now. And yes, oh so glad to not have to get up every 45 minutes overnight like I did at 4 mo.

Speaking of sleep... I'm off!

Jo :)
