This may sound silly but....... :o
On cloudy days do our cloth nappies still get "sanitised" by the sun (particularly when the sun is behind clouds...)??

its the uv rays that do it no the sun itself
and as theres still heaps of uv rays when its cloudy they sure do
the stains even vanish when its cloudy

I think the only difference on a cloudy day is that they take a little longer to sanitize, as the UV isn't as strong. I think its a good thing for PUL as well, as the UV won't degrade it as much!
My MCNs are taking 2 days to dry now .... nooo! Microfibre inserts are suddenly looking very attractive!

Too cold here too, mine were still damp after 2 days and nights yesterday, I had to finish in the drier
In a different perspective: think about how people get skin cancers. It's not necessarily because they've been out in the burning, bright sun, but because they've been exposed to the UV rays which penetrate through even on completely overcast days. While UV is most certainly stronger on sunny, cloudless days, clouds are definetly not a barrier to stop UV coming through.
So nappies will be sanitised even on cloudy, overcast days when you can't even see the sun! It's debatable as to how long you need to leave them out there to sanitise, no one has been able to give me an exact time. Some say about 2 hrs others say most of the day. I figure a few hrs is fine.

Yay now I don't feel so dumb! :hugs:
As for the time thing I generally tend to leave them on the line all day anyway (regardless of the sun being out or not) unless of course it is raining!
I am lucky in the sense I live in Nth Qld so even in the middle of winter my BBB will still be dry by the end of the day! And I always put them in the drier for an hour just to fluff them up! (the sun tends to stiffen them up here!)
