We have been invied to a friends wedding that is happening this saturday and the dress code is Semi Formal.

I have my dress all sorted! But I only just realised that I haven't given my DH's outfit a thought! :o

For men what would you class as semi formal?? Suit and Tie? Suit pants, long sleeve shirt & tie? No tie??

Please help!

Our dress code was semi formal.The guys just wore black dress pants and a nice shirt.Some wore ties-noone wore a jacket.
Semi-formal isnt really that dressy,I just put it on the invite in the hope noone would show up wearing jeans LOL

i would say it means wearing black pants and a button up dress shirt and a tie if they want

Ours was semi formal, noone rocked up in jeans, everyone was dressed in suit pants and shirt (most guys had no tie) with nice shoes and the ladies wore skirts, dresses or pants and nice top.

Everyone looked very very nice I must say.

Oh I knew it would be a jeans No No :shame: Do people really turn up to weddings in Jeans?? Our wedding was really laid back (we had neat casual) and still noone wore jeans!

It was more whether he had to wear a full suit or just a tie or no tie! I might see whether he just wants to wear a nice shirt with his suit pants or add a tie to it.....

Gee I thought it was easier to dress a guy! :laughing:

yes people do really turn up in just jeans my SIL and BIL both wore jeans to ours.

Yes the do!! My brother showed up in jeans for my wedding!! And an open Hawaiian shirt with a grey t-shirt underneath!! :rolleyes: What a dag... :p

I seriously can't believe people do... I would never wear jeans to a wedding - no matter how low key it was!

:yes: I think that jeans are OK . Just picture your guy in a really nice white shirt with out a tie, navy blue jacket and dark blue jeans! HOT!

My dad wore jeans to my SIL laws wedding, with a nice shirt. He feels more comfortable in jeans then he does in black dress pants. I guess it is completly up the individual. If you wrote semi formal then def no jeans, but if there is no dress code...........
You can still look nice in a pair of jeans.

I think it means a nice pair of slacks with a button up shirt (tucked in probably, with a nice collar).

If it's cold, then a jacket too, but no tie. That's overdoing it.
