i just wanted to share that finally after years of trying Justin is Potty trained. i know he is 3 1/2 but he had to put up with his dad sitting him on the potty for hours straight, and smacking him when he had the occasional accident. but since grant left he is now going on his own and has not wet one pair of pants. im so unbelieveably proud of my big boy!!!
stay tuned for another announcement this afternoon, i get to find out when my baby is coming!!!! i see the ob this morning!.

Wow I am really appalled at your ex partners approach to toilet awareness. Did he really think that using violence would create inspiration for Justin to use the potty/toilet? Making him fearful would only create negative associations with toileting. That is SO the wrong way to go. At least Justin now feels safe enough to embrace toilet awareness, but it's a tragedy he didn't right from the start. I read on another thread you're rid of this guy, sounds like good news to me. You and your children deserve better.
