What sort of pre-natal steps did you take to prepare for getting pregnant and how long before you got pregnant? For example, I think you are meant to take folate from three months before TTC but is there anything else?

Folate yes.
If you do immunisations, make sure your gabs for rubella are up to date 3months prior.
Change your eatting habits now to include plenty of fresh vege and fruit and red meat for iron if you aren't vegetarian (if you are then find another way to keep your stores up)
Pregnancy multi's if you want.
Get a health check if you want from your GP or natropath or who ever you see.
Get yourself as healthy as possible, reduce stress etc.
Cut out alcohol and caffine (or keep it to a minimum)
If you smoke, nows a good time to stop.
If you are on meds, look for ones that are pregnancy friendly if you need them.
Get any dental work done you need.

I got pg in my first month trying....or actually, it was the month before though I was doing preconception care so it was a good and welcome thing.

Hi,
Four months before we ttc, I started eating organically grown food, got plenty of fresh air and a little daily excercise as well as folate and multivitamins.
My husband was taking zinc, magnesium, vitamin c, and cutting out alcohol.
It happened after 3 moths of trying- (we are now expecting dd #2 in March)
