Sorry in advance for TMI. AF was due today but I started getting nasty cramps six days ago and then heavy bleeding with clots that night. AF has been pretty regular lately so I figured it was an early miscarriage - I hadn't tested and then when I started bleeding I figured it would be better not to know. Now I'm really uncomfortable though and the bleeding has got heavier, I rang the hospital and the m/w said to do a hpt. But surely it wouldn't show anything now anyway? I'm just not sure what to do...
Thanks for any advice....

Do the test sweet pea... I know it will be hard to do but even if you are M/C ing there will still be enough of the hormones to pick up if you where indeed PG at all... I am so sorry to hear you sooo distressed:hugs: ...but you may need some medical assisitance and prolonging doing the test could cost you more than not knowing xoxo

Never be sorry about TMI!! We are always here to listen and help if we can. As Kristy said hun, I think you need to do the test. I am so sorry that you are going through this. Looking at your signature it seems you have already had heartbreak and to have to go through it again is just devastating. If you do the test and it comes up positive it means that you have hormones still in your system which also would probably mean your miscarriage wasn't complete. I am SO sorry to have said that. It will be better for you to know so you can get the help you need if that is the case. I know what you are saying about better not to know, but please think of yourself and make sure you get the help that you might need.
Big hugs to you and yours hun,
xxx Nita
Hailse75 - I haven't got anything to add to the replies because I think that they say it all, please test and then go straight to your gp for further assistance if you need it.

I am sorry that this has happened to you :hugs: :hugs:
It's bad enough when you think it could be an early miscarriage but then when the bleeding doesn't stop it does worry you
It might be helpful for you to know that it's happened to me as well, I've had lots of miscarriages (more than 10) and I've had 2 that have gone like this. It's called a haemorrhage and you know you have one because the bleeding is heavy, might even have a stop/start to it, you go through lots of changes of clothing as well as tamps etc, the bleeding just doesn't stop and it interferes with your life.....does that sound like it?
if it is, then you must see your GP or go to the emergnancy room and you have got to tell them that your haemorrhaging (pron: hem - ridging) they will most likely prescribe a medication that will help stop the bleeding. First off they will run some tests etc, to make sure that the miscarriage was complete if not they will give you a D&C to make sure there is no risk of infection. That happens if some of the 'material' is left behind it goes toxic and causes problems.
I hope this has helped? I dont' want to alarm you but you do need to get it seen to ASAP
let me know if I can be of anymore help ok :hugs:

Thanks heaps everyone. I did the test and it came up negative - I'm surprised but really relieved. I guess its just my body still doing unexpected things and freaking me out in the process. I'm really grateful for your support, it really helps.
