I think stir frys are great. You can try different meat and veges and sauces.
Same with soups for winter. I dont really have recipes, I just throw stuff in.
I love steak with mushroom sauce.. I just cook some mushies, stir in a big spoon of sour cream and pour it over steak. Yum!

Considering it would be just the three of you?
500grams of chicken thighs or breast, whichever you prefer.
You can buy already made sauces from aldi for under $3, just poor it on the chicken and cook for about 45 minutes, depends on your oven.
A good make your own sauce:
Mustard seeds mixed with cream.

Let us know what sort of stuff you like and I'm sure you'll get heaps of great ideas.
Have you checked out Pobblebonks slow cooker recipe thread? There's a lot of easy stuff there and the best thing is its all in one pot so less mess!

The single best thing to do is watch some cooking programs. Watch how they build the bases to the sorts of dishes you like (mine is generally butter/olive oil, garlic, onion, chilli flakes). After a few shows, go down to the shops and buy stuff - anything you like, anything you think you might like. Take a good long time in the spices aisle and stock up on the various things.
Come home and experiment. The first few things I cooked were absolutely disgusting and had to be dumped but they did get better as I practiced more. Grab a cookery book or two (my personal favourites are those by Jamie Oliver and Nigella Lawson but just grab whatever tickles your fancy) and try some recipes out of those. And here's the thing: if they add something you don't like (there's on particular book I have that insists on asafoetida powder in everything ... icky icky icky!), don't add it. You can substitute pretty much anything for anything.
Go with your own tastes and don't be afraid of the kitchen or making a mistake.
