Hi guys
We are planning on going to Cairns at the end of August. DD will nearly be 9 months.
We have a mountain buggy pram which we love - Do we buy a MB travel bag to put the pram in while we are away?? Or do we buy a cheap stroller to take???
I am just worried that something might happen to our pram in transit??

I'd say it depends on what you plan to do whilst on holidays. If you are planning lots of bushwalking, etc then I'd take your mountain buggy and look into travel insurance (I assume you can get some to cover items lost or damaged in transit). My brother and SIL are going away to queensland when my nephew is 6 months old and they are taking a little stroller instead of their 3 wheeler.
I have a MB but I always take a smaller stroller when we go away. With all that you need for baby (which can be alot  ) It can seem like you your packing everything but the kitchen sink. Having a stroller is easier to handle and travel with. They can get pretty chucked around by the airlines.
I have seen plenty of people take large 3 wheelers on planes, but I find the stroller easier. Just make sure its a layback one so bubs can still sleep in it. Something like the Steelcraft Pheonix around $150 would be perfect.

We went to Cairns at Christmas and took our Mountain Buggy. It was a lifesaver!
Works on Beaches, walking tracks, suburban streets, loved it.
Just like another piece of luggage, it went in the hold.
We bought the bag to protect it- I'll lend you mine if you like, when are you going?
ETA: The bag was expensive thus why I'd try to borrow one from someone who already has one.
I'm in VIC so all you'd have to do it pay post. Bag is new and thick so keeps Mountain Buggy in great nick, no damage to ours and we had 2 flights each way! Oh and we have a Terrain, but the bag fits the Urban.

I've travelled with Qantas and our urban mountain buggy (with no cover). I just had to label it clearly and put it on the oversized luggage trolley, alongside things like surfboards and skiis. Had no trouble with damage at all. Sounds like you have an excellent offer to lend one, above, so go for it!
