Hi everyone trying ttc#1 and have heard Selangor fab just wondering though if you need an epidural is that easy to do.? Will try to go natural but nursing experience tells me to be prepared for all occasions, so if you went there and had an epi please respond.:wizard: cheers

Are you refering to Nambour Selangor? If so then yes an epi is easy to do.
They will do as you wish, the only thing they do not offer is pethidine.

Hi spiraldancer
You will be asked to sign a green form (hmmm I think it's green) giving your consent for an epi should the need arise. It's in your Selangor Hospital admission pack or your Ob will give it to you. I didn't have an epi though so that's all I can tell you.
Good luck to you :)

I didn't birth at Selangor- but did our antenatal classes there. From memory if you want an epi, that's fine, I think it's the time factor- they would have to call in the anthesitist (sorry about sp)- depending on time of day would depend on how quickly they could get there.
You are very lucky to be birthing there- they have such a good reputation!! Lots of good midwifery support!!
They will do as you wish, the only thing they do not offer is pethidine.
Sorry to hijack the thread, but do you know why they will not offer pethadine? I'm guessing it's due to difficulties for bubby immediately following birth with peth, but was just curious as I've never heard of a hospy take a stand like that... I am impressed!
Good luck TTCing spiraldancer - Selangor is reportedly one of the best - lucky you!
