I was just wondering if it is ok to use "microfibre cloths" in MCN's? I am talking about the microfibre cloths that can be bought out of Big W, they come in the colours of blue, organge and yellow, they are just like regular cloths, but are apparently microfibre....I am not sure if they are supposed to be used in cloth nappies or not? I have always used them, from the time I started using cloth 18 mths ago... I should add they have never touched DD's skin and she has never had a rash from them....so I spose they are ok??

I think I saw a thread about this somewhere earlier *goes off to see if I can find it.....*
Yes you can!!
I was reading that same thread Phoenix's Mum adn we were talking about how they make great inserts/boosters at a very very minimal cost...
as a matter of fact I was going to buy one today... but I could only find the pack of 1 and I want a pack of 3 :o

OH PHEW!!! I have been meaning to ask for like 18 months now hahahahaha it just keeps slipping my mind...
I was thinking about getting someone to sew it together for me, just saves folding them and shoving them in the nappies and having them unfold all the time... hmmm... it;s funny cause they are in the automotive section, hahaha

The reject shop sells them cheap too. A three pack for three dollars or something like it. Am going to buy some this weekend, once I have puzzled out what inserts go where! I got my fluffy mail today and am rather confused!! Excited too though! Cherry

How do these compare to the 'proper' ones that come with the nappies, eg Bumgenius Pockets?

Are these okay to use as liners in nappies that arent pocket nappies? Meaning is it okay for them to touch babys skin????

They're not as thick. I bought some online, not sure where from, they were much thicker, maybe two or three times.

You shouldn't put them against bub's skin, they dry it out . Fleeces are best. Polar or micro. You can get polar fleece from Spotlight

Polymiade (however it is spelt...) is not a good thing to have wet against bub's skin... I really wouldn't do it.
I had been meaning to get some of these for AGES.. but couldn't find them until a bubhubber pointed it out that they are in the AUTOMOTIVE section.. lol.. not the cleaning section.
I really like that they are not sewn together like my other ones- they dry even faster!
While my hemp inserts are drying (when the pocket has already dried) I use one of these cloths on top of a flanellette flat and stuffed inside- then after the next wash, the hemp insert has now finished drying and off the nappy goes to be worn again :) If that makes sense!! Dammit, I need more nappies!!

yes i use them in my pockets.
you can get them in a 6 pack from kmart - just look in the car section and they come as a roll with cardboard around them. all for $12
I got a 6 pack from big-w for $12 and a 3 pack from woolies for $4, on special and with both i will use them as a booster for overnight or during the day i can use them in a pocket by themselves for a good 3 hours with no leaks, they are awesome!
