Hi Mrs J  I had my youngest DD there before it changed to a birthing centre but the midwives are still the same and they are BRILLIANT!!!!! I am also going there with this bubba and have had 1 appointment plus my NT scan there and I cannot praise them enough :yelclap: I would recommend them highly

Well after the hospital caused my m/c 4 weeks ago i refuse to go back, so i thought this would be a totally different experience and hopefully a calm and relaxing place and also i have always wanted a home birth and this would be close. Thanks Darl i hope it all goes well for you. Now we just have to get another :bfp:

no you get discharged after 4 to 6 hours as long as all is ok with both mum and bub, thats why they only take low risk pregnancies. I am so sorry to hear what happened with your last pregnancy... . :hugs: :fingerscrossed: for a bfp for you soon.

Hi Mrs J:wave:
I had my DS2 there 7 months ago. My care throughout my whole pregnancy was amazing. My birth was exactly as I had imagined it to be and and as Trish said the midwives are BRILLIANT. I had my DS at 0403 and went home at 0800. The midwives will give you 3 weeks postnatal care if needed.
Im sorry about your recent loss. All the best in getting a :bfp: in the very near future.

Mel

P.S. If you have any other questions about BBS feel free to ask away. I would rave on about them for as long as someone will listen...lol

I have got my BFP, but mum isn't keen on me going down there to the birth centre, she is on with all the what if's and its about an hr way and that is a long way for all the appointments i wish there was one closer :banghead:

Congrats on your :bfp: .
I live about a 45-50min car trip to the birth centre as well and when I talk my DH in to having number 4 I will be going back there again.
As for the what if's?? The John (I know your not happy with them) is up the road and should you need to go there then the midwife who has been your sole care provider throughout your whole pregnancy will go with you.
I was a matter of days away with DS2 to another induction and my middy was going to be the one to accompany me to the John and perform the induction.

I hope this little one is a very sticky one for you and you get the birth you want.

Mrs J I went there last week, just to check them out so maybe you could make an app just to check the place out and the midwife that shows you through will be more than happy to answer any questions your mum has. It might put her mind at ease.
It's only a 15 minute trip in the ambulance if they need to transfer you, and they will do some home appts if necessary (not sure how far they travel).

I decided to stay with the birth centre at the JHH, but my decision has absolutely nothing to do with Belmont!
