Hi,
I am new to this site - but it's great! I wish I'd found it earlier. What a fabulous resource.
My query is about weight gain - I have read a couple of other threads but would like some reassurance for my own situation! :)
My daughter Anna is 13 weeks old and in the past 4 weeks, has only put on 150gms. Other than this, she is happy, healthy, doing all the developmental things - she sleeps all the way through the night & has been since 5 weeks; she has been smiling for ages and is now laughing; she holds her head up when on tummy; tries to grab things; etc. But my local child nurse wants me to make an appointment at the clinic to try to find out why she is not putting on as much weight as, apparently she should be.
I agree that 150gms in 4 weeks doesn't sound like much - but should I be worried? (Of course, I am anyway!) I am breastfeeding, about every 2 hours, and I really don't want to go on 'top up' formula bottles but I think that's what will be recommended.
Have any other readers had this issue? Is there something that is the opposite of a growth spurt and is this normal?
Helen.
First time mum to Anna, 13 weeks.
