Can anyone please help me !!!!!!!!!
My DD keeps getting out of her seat belt.:banghead:
She is in a car seat, and I always make sure that it is done up tight. NO matter what i do she slips her shoulders out.
I have a 30 minute trip to work each day and generally I have to stop 2-3 times to put her seat belt on. I stop as soon as I notice (check every couple of minutes) and put it back on correctly, however she sitll manages to slip out again.
People tell me it's a stage...but I'm wondering how long it's going to take.
Any idea's to stop her doing this would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Vanessa
I've heard that there is a product that clips on to the shoulder strap and stops kids squirming out....
Can't remember off-hand but your local carseat supplier should be able to tell you.

Hey Chub! Is the maxi rider the car seat that converts to a booster???
cos my DD does that too, the CHN told me to stay in a car seat cos it was safer for her than a booster, I thought DD might prefer a booster.....
I started having the same problem briefly then when cleaning the car seat one day I noticed that I had not moved the straps up into the next hole, if you know what I mean. Are the straps attached to the seat lower than her shoulders? Maybe see if you have extra holes above to move them up??? I hope that helps/makes sense.

Thanks for your hints.
I just had a look at Maxi Rider 2's on ebay and can't understand what the difference between my SAFE N sound meridian is. I couldn't see any real difference.
I welcome your response?

I can only compare with my safe and sound....the maxi riders harness/belts seem closer around the neck preventing my DD from getting her arms in and over if I have the harness tight enough....maybe I just got lucky that she stopped as well, not sure!

Thanks for that Chub Chub. I might go and look at one in the shops and see how it fits.
That sounds right though.
I will also try and see about the other item that was mentioned earlier.
Vanessa

I think Baby's Glaore sell a piece of material that clips onto both straps & goes over the chest so that the kiddies can't get their arms out. Need to get one for MJ real soon

 I got mine there ages ago for my girls. I think it was something like $10 or $15. Some kids can undo it but mine can't. Even DD1 who was 7 when I bought them for her sister's had alot of trouble undoing them. Goodluck.

It's called a securawrap and works wonders. I didn't look where you are from but if you are in brissy you can get one from the baby store in the valley, babies galore didn't have them when I was after one.
I don't have to use mine anymore cause DD hates it so much that she doesn't take her arms out anymore cause she knows that the strap will go on her seat.

Cool...thank's for that.
I am in Adelaide. Will have a look around at all the baby stores. If I can't maybe I wonder if I could send you some money and get you to send me one?

Hi all.
Thanks again for everyone's advice.
My securawrap arrived today, and I used it for the first time. We had some extra driving today so I had lots of opportunities to test it out.
It works a treat! DD was interested in the new addition and doesn't seem to mind having it on which is a plus.
She tried to get out once, but quickly realised there was not point trying.
Would recommend it for anyone else who is having this drama. So cheap too!

We took DD in a friend's car recently and she did the same (it was the Safe n Sound Meridian). She could slip the arms out underneath. The baby who usually sits in this seat is smaller than DD, so the straps were too low. But we could not figure out, how to get them to the other holes.
We have a Safe n Sound Seat as well, but a different model (not sure about the name), but it would be impossible for her to slip out the arms in our seat.
I would probably go to a shop or one of thos car seat fitting places, they must know how to fix it. Because theoretically your toddler should be able to sit in this seat up until 18 kilos, which is probably 3 years.
