Coming off AR Formula

Hi everyone
Just wanted some advice, my 12 week old has reflux but is on Zantac and Karicare AR formula and its working a treat (touch wood - thank goodness). However my health nurse recommended he come off the AR formula and go to normal formula now, but as most of you will be aware I'm scared to change what is working so well.
Has anyone done this ? Has it worked for you ?
What do you all think ? Should I change ?

If it's working wonders, I wouldn't go upsetting the apple cart, have they mentioned maybe just weaning off the Zantac first?

TBH i think you should take advice from a GP instead of a nurse for this kind of stuff. It is pretty serious. My girls didnt have the medicine, but were on AR formula. I didnt change them off of it until 6 months of age. It takes most babies that long to properly devolp that muscle that keeps food down.

We are on Ar at 9 mths and at 7 mths i tried him on normal formula, he kept:barf: so I went back he was only on Zantac for 4 mths. I will try him again but may just wait till 12 mths and put him straight onto cows.
It really is trial and error.

Both of my twins were on AR formula but only one was medicated. We stopped the medication at 7mths (5mths corrected). I tried to stop the AR at 8mths and it was like living in Mt Vesuvius.

We didn't stop the AR until they were 11mths old and it worked fine for me.

I'm curious as to why it is such an issue with her. My paed was quite comfortable for our two to be on it as long as necessary.

Hi, my (now) 5 yr old DD was on AR until she was 12 months ans we never had an issue with keeping her on it. My 4.5 month old DS is on the HA-AR & losec which initially our CHN tried to talk us into changing to a different formula. I went on mothers instinct and refused to change formulas. Fortunately, our paed confirmed my own thoughts and recommended the HA-AR also, so don't doubt your own instincts & go with what you think is best for your bub.
