Hi and congrats!!!

My sister got married on hamilton and it was just beautiful. They got married on the beach in front of the Beach Club resort and had their reception on the balcony of the restaurant near the pool bar (not sure of the name, sorry).

They then had their honeymoon on Hayman Island. It was only friends and family at the wedding, so all up it was probably about 30 people. Really intimate and beautiful.

Have you looked at the packages that Hamilton offer? They have accomodation, hair and makeup, flowers, celebrant etc all for a fixed price. Check it out, I think they have a website

i lived on hamilton island for a year, but it was in the early 1990s. i had so much fun. i partied big time, had several boyfriends (as you do) , got voted 'hot chick' for the month of july  , romped with visiting band members :shame: , met lots of people, went on adventures, was really tanned, very fit and achieved whatever other superficial useless milestones a 21 year old can achieve.

BUT as far as getting married there, i wouldn't have a clue. its changed alot since then so, i'm sorry - i can't help you. don't let what i said put you off - what goes on with the staff doesn't impact at all on what happens with the guests.

The best wedding I've ever been to was on Hamilton. Only a small one also but it was lovely - they got married in the chapel up on the hill, then had their reception on one of the boats - fantastic! Everyone had a great time, got roaring drunk and it was a great night - out on the water at night, moonlight etc. So much fun! It was like a mini holiday for everyone as well. They do packages as Ange&Seth said so check them out......

The best wedding I've ever been to was on Hamilton.

Same here. We went to one in November and it was awesome. They also got married at the Chapel and had the reception on a Sunset boat cruise.

We all had a great time, scooting around on our little golf buggies. The picture in my profile is where we had drinks the night before the wedding. It's beautiful there.

I got married on Hamilton Island in September 2002. It was the best time of my life. Everything was so stress free and relaxing. To get wedding on the island you must go through hamiton island weddings (they have a website) and you are allocated a wedding planner who will organize everything for you, all you have to do is turn up. They have there own photographer/video man/chauffeur driven cars, hair salon, florist etc.

I had my ceremony in the All Saints Chapel and reception/dinner at Romeos (Italian restaurant).
Which was lovely. We only had 12 guests.

I found it to be a lot cheaper and more flexible to deal with hamilton islands wedding directly, rather than go through a travel agent.

Feel free to ask me if you need any more info.

Its best to book as early as possible, so you can have your choose of day and time. I wanted mine on a saturday but changed so a friday so I could have sunset photos. They only do one wedding at a time.

Hi, I got married on Hamilton Island in July last year and it was fantastic. We were married in the Chapel and had our reception at Romanos restaurant. Although we had about 50 guests so you could have your reception somewhere a bit smaller - like the boat. It was so stress free, our wedding coordinator looked after everything. I just found pictures of things that I liked, eg. cake, decorations, flowers and just emailed them off and got exactly what I wanted.

Our guests said it was the best wedding they had been to as they got a holiday out of it as well.

Accommodation at the resorts is quite expensive and you have to hire the buggies separately. There is some great private accommodation around (which all of guests booked) and these all come with the buggy included. Let me know if you want to know the websites for the private accommodation. This accommodation is also better as it comes as 2, 3 or more bedrooms so guests can even share to save costs.

We also ordered our food from the mainland and it was delivered to our door the day we arrived. This was also cheaper (we have two kids) for us. Let me know if you would like any more info.

thanks caitlyns mum, those websites would be great. made our tentative booking on monday so now its just organising and waiting to find out if what we want is available. we decided on romanos as well, thought it sounded like the best restuarant there (for us anyway)

any other info would be a big help, like how did u order food from the mainland? how long did u stay for and do u think that was long enough? how did u go with your kids? were they welcome most places? we'll have a 6 month old by then so trying to plan for that also is a bit tricky!!

The two best websites for private accommodation are hamiltonisland.stays.com.au and accomhamiltonisland.net.au. The place where we ordered our food from was whitprov.com.au then go to the private boat part and they have order forms in there.

Romanos is great. Although if you want entertainment you have to book out the whole restaurant which is an expensive way of doing it. We did that and just had a large bar tab, which our guests didn't seem to mind:laughing:

Hamilton Island has a great kids club where you can drop the kids off for half a day, or even just an hour if you want. We dropped both of our kids off for a few hours one day and they loved it. We also organised our babysitter through them for the night of the wedding. Kids are very welcome there.

We stayed for four nights in a 2 bedroom apartment. We thought of staying longer but decided that a week at the Gold Coast would cost us the same as 2 nights on Hamilton:eek: But it was well worth it and we wanted to go back as soon as we got home. We keep saying that we are going to go back - was going to be this first wedding anniversary but looks like it will be the next one.

Let me know if you want to know anything else.

The hair and makeup girls were really good. With my flowers, I just emailed her a photo of what I wanted and then she just gave me a quote, same with the cake. I wasn't that happy with the photos, most of them were great but I wish we had of included our kids more (he sort of talked us out of that) and it all seemed very rushed. There are a few different photographers though so I suppose you could look on their website and decide which photos you like the look of the most and ask which photographer did them.

I have PM'd you most of our costs to give you an idea.

AND I definitely don't mind how many questions you ask. It's good to have someone to ask who has been there done that. I found a girl on another forum who had also done the same and had her reception at Romano's so I asked her lots of questions too.
