Hi all... I had my DS in October and the problem is I havent got my AF yet and my DH & I have been trying TTC for a month now.

Do you get your AF soon after birth or does it take a few months to get your body back to normal?

So without having my AF will it take longer to fall pregnant or should I wait for my AF?

Any suggestions would be great....

I had AF 6 weeks after my son's birth, but after that it just had random spotting, didn't get another 'normal' AF for 3 months!

If you are concerned see a doctor, breastfeeding can delay AF, I am breastfeeding but my doc told me that if my cycles didn't get regular soon after birth he could give me something to regulate them so I could concieve :D See if your doc is willing to do the same for you.

Good Luck!

I gave birth 29/8/05 and didn't get AF till 25/12/05. So don't stress - don't know about the ttc thing though - we finished ttc - but still have fun anyway :p

I didnt get AF back for 15 months after my second son was born (5 months with my first.....) It varies from person to person and how much you are feeding etc,

Oh and it is possible to fall pg before you get AF back....You will ovulate once before you get your first AF, so if you are lucky enough to BD aorund that time, theres a chance:)

Thanks for you replies.

I feel so much better now that I'm not the only one. Before I had my DS my AF were very irregular so I just think it's my body. I had just thought after having a baby is would come pretty much straight away.

Thanks for your opinions.

I didn't get AF until DS1 was 4mths old, then with DS2 AF arrived after 5mths, so as someone said earlier, everyone is different.
You can ovulate without AF also, so you may just get a surprise!

I have a friend who didnt get AF for over a year and yet mine showed up at 7wks after giving birth and then I fell pregnant when my newborn was 11wks  My girls are 12months and 7days apart although it was hard work - its definitely paid off now:) so all the best for that BFP!
