hey,
So I'm going with the BBB part-time pack for when bubby is born next month. :D
BUT I have heard they don't fit newborns too well. At what size approximately will they start to fit? I'm guessing 9 pound/ 4kg?
I don't mind, I can use flats until then but it'd be good to know at what size I can expect my baby to fit them.
THANKYOU :)
We used them from birth - but that was 4.2 kg. I have however seen them on an 8lb bub and although a tad bulky, they worked well, and they are no bulkier than a terry flat on that size bub either.
We used mostly terry flats during the day for our nb, cause they wee so much, but the BBB was super at night.

My bub was only 6lb 13oz, so they were a bit too big for her to use straight away. They fit well from about 4kg, just fold the front bit down...oh and a great tip I got was to fold the leg wing bits under to catch the runny poo!!

thats great, just what I thought :)
I'm only expected to have a 6/7 pound baby so I'll be using flats at first for sure.
How long do you think it'll take for a 6/7lb to get up to about 9lb ??

Devyn was 4kg, about 9 pounds (her bro's birth weight!) at her 4 week check up.
I found even flats way too big at the beginning, but now we love them!

4 weeks.. thats not so bad :)
My mum is all "muslin happy" at the mo. She's buying me a heap of muslin nappies from the UK before she comes home in a couple of weeks.
I guess they'll be pretty trim.... but seriously muslin is SO LIGHT. Is it really going to be absorbant enough? Or should I be buying a booster or something for them? I'm assuming you can boost a folded nappy??????
Sorry I am so new to this whole nappy thing! Maybe I should have top posted this question?

I am keen to know about Muslin Nappies too for a new born.... Any words of wisdom out there??
It would have a lot to do with build as well. Bub is 18mths and they fit on the tightest snapsand too loose on the legs (skinny legs) yet the rise would be too short if I put it in the newborn shape.
Not sure about muslin - It would be light, huh? I guess they would be very versatile with folds etc.

My bubs is 5weeks tomorrow (although if he arrived when due he'd be 1 week old!) and i put him in his first BBB this week. Once i got some good advice on how to fold it properly :banghead: (i knew how too - I was just having a dumb day - lol) it fits him fine. Here (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=91829) is the post with some pics. The first one, is folded for an older bubs, the last one is newborn fold. He was weighed today & is 3.7kg - so from about 3.5-4kg is probably a good guide.
