I liked the ABC 80s stuff - Monkey, Kenny Everett Video Show, The Young Ones & The Goodies.

Dallas, Dynasty, Magnum PI & Miami Vice were great at the time but laughable now. Those shoulder pads, the big hair!! Who shot JR? Did Crockett & Tubbs ever get tired of the ladies and hook up? What was Magnum hiding inside that moustache? Questions that will never be answered after the demise of these 80s classics.... sadly :p

Does anyone remember that show on ABC "You can't do that on Television" and they used to slime everyone and the horrible chef in the kitchen.

When our kids grow up they wouldn't have a clue about any of these shows.

I was a HUGE Full House Fan. I used to tape all the episodes when I was young and watch them over and over and over again until I knew all the words. My mum and brother almost got driven nuts because they hated the show! At one point I had 72 eps taped, and kept stealing every one elses blank VCR's and labelling them with Full House. I used to think the Olsens were so adorable. How sad is that! lol

Also LOVEd all that was mentioned. I had Punky Brewster Knickers!

TV today sux compared to the 80's. All this reality garbage. What have our kids got to watch? Seriously? How to Find a Husband?

Those of us who were teens through the eighties were TV freaks! You can always pick someone from this era by the TV shows that they mention. :D
As far as sitcoms go, Family Ties was the absolute best. Sit UBU, sit. Good dog.
The Cosby show also most of those that have been mentioned. The Fresh Prince of Bel Air was good.
Ash, we must be triplets then because I scored the nickname Punky for some time too! So many people thought I looked and acted like her. :o
Also, on the AUS front of sitcoms, Hey Dad and, maybe a bit earlier than 80's but Kingswood Country was very funny for the time. Not the Kingswood, I just Baygoned the T-Bar!

My boss was friends with Garry Reily, and I went to some of those tapings..good cheap fun, wish I could take my kids to something similar.

Even the ausie soapies that are still running now, were so much more real and interesting in the beginning, now most of them could rival the bold and the beautiful!!

My favourite sitcom was definitely Family Ties. I'll still watch an episode if I happen to catch one on TV. I think it was just such a good family show, always with a moral message, and it just takes me back to my teenage years in the 80's.....so many memories!:)

Oh I have so many that I loved and still do love and cherish.

The top few would have to be Family Ties, Growing Pains, Full House, The Wonder Years, Degrassi ( and Degrassi Junior High - none of this Degrassi The Next Generation), Saved By The Bell, and The Golden Girls. I'm sure there's much more, but I won't bore you with too many details.

Although I was born in the 80s I still fell truly madly deeply in love with these shows. Guess you could say that the telly was part of the family in our house!

One of my favourite lines from the shows were Miiiiike! - Growing Pains and You in big trouble Mister / You got it dude! / How RUDE! - Full House.

Is it wrong that I know the lyrics to these theme songs?

It's a Knock out - That's the name of the game!

I remember that one!!!

...Does anyone remember that show on ABC "You can't do that on Television" and they used to slime everyone and the horrible chef in the kitchen.

Mandymoo did this show involve a school bus by any chance? I remember a show with lots of slime on channel 2 and i remember a cafeteria/diner and a yellow school bus, I also remember loving it lol ... is it the same show?

So if we look at a picture of you we can see the grown up punky :D

Did you know that grown up Punky - Soleil Moonfry (I kid you not, that is her name!) has been on Sabrina The Teenage Witch along with Friends. On Friends she played one of Joey's girlfriends. She was the one that used to always punch him excitedly and he ended up wearing multiple sweaters just to block her swings! Then Rachel ended up getting involved and they hit and slapped each other until Soleil's character told Joey it was either her or Rachel... he chose Rachel as he wanted to dump her anyway but was too scared of her!

Can you tell I'm a Friends buff? Now that's a quality 90s show. Too bad there isn't more like it. *sigh*
