So the weather is *blah* here today, rainy and muggy. This is our one family day together ( I work Saturdays ), and we were going to go to the botanical gardens for a picnic, but I guess we have to cancel that now.:( boo hoo!
Apart from going to a shopping mall or visiting friends/rellies, is there anything else we can do today with a little girl who is not quite walking? We really need to get out of the house!!
Hmmm....maybe we'll just go for a drive somewhere and then back again....
The movies maybe? Or lunch somewhere that they have the indoor play equipment (like Maccas or Hungery Jack's). Isn't there that kid expo thingy in Brissy or the Gold Coast?
Try having a look at http://www.ourbrisbane.com/whatson/schoolholidays/events/
I'm only suggesting places in Brissy cause you said the Botanical Gardens. Sorry if you're somewhere else. :o

Kid Expo? I think I saw some ads on the TV - sounds good, but will every man and his dog be there?
I think Libby's too little to go to movie sessions that aren't strictly baby/mummy - I would never keep her still! And she would let out the occasional squawk like a person with Tourette's!:o
Thank you very much for your suggestions anyway. I think that a visit to Nanny and Poppy's might be on the cards!
That's alright - we went to see Chicken Little, and it made it more fun to have little kids in there.
Nanny and Poppy are always a hit though! :)

Really, Shaelia? Do you think it'd be okay to take her to a kiddies movie?
I'm so clueless about these things sometimes!
Yeah get with the program Nickster.
There would be that many other screaming kids there that what's one more.;)
If it was me, I would go for a nice drive somewhere I hadn't been before, in the county maybe?
I love drives, especially on days like this, and then find a nice cafe to go to. Mmmm maybe I should do that?

What about the pool?? If you have a good indoor one, doesn't matter too much if the weather isn't great.
What about you good oldies:
Painting- finger painting is always fun, just put down and old sheet on the floor, truct me you are never to old for painting, you can make wraaping paper out her paintings for friends pressies
Playdoh (making you r own together is always fun with littles. If you doit in the mircove and is just mix and cook) she can help with the mixings
Have your own movies - grab some food the she likes, both lie on the floor and enjoy each other
Play with her toys with her, get her imagination going
Drawing - okay they may not look like much but good for hand eye coordintion and fine motor, and you can frame them to put them up in her room
Puzzles
Constrcution with stuff you have lying around the house
There is a book I have seen. I can't remeber the title but has 200 ideas of what you can do instead of watching TV. It is aimed at youngens. Most book stores have it in the parenting section I think.
Hope this has helped
