We have a multicultural day later this month and we are all to make a dish from our home country, we are a pretty big mix in this little town. I usually make lamingtons and Anzac biscuits as they are really well received here. But it's time for a change any ideas on something different I can make? There'll be lots of people so something plentiful would be great!
Any ideas?

Vegemite Sangas (LOL)
Scones Jam and Cream
Mars Bar Slice
damper??? (you can vary it .. and make vegemite damper or garlic and cheese damper)
meat pies?? (FANTASTIC if you make them yourself .. with actual meat)
pavlova???

I was thinking a pavlova slice kinda thing. not sure how you would do it but make it flatter instead of round and cut into small slices.
or a sausage sizzle!!

Lamingtons, Chiko Rolls, Violet Crumble & Jaffas, Kangaroo Burgers, Meat Pies, Sausage Rolls, Pasties, Egg and bacon pie, toad in the hole,
chocolate crackles,fairy bread,coconut ice,honeycomb,toasted coconut marshmallows,rocky road,coconut roughs,toffees, butterscotch, trifle, white xmas.
Not 100% aussie - but we've adopted them all as traditional foods anyway :laughing:

Thanks for the ideas... they are great! Now to just decide what to make... some of them will be a little easier and quicker than others, the food will be served outside which means I probably won't have access to warm or chill anything... so I could try damper served with vegemite, very easy and very Aussie :) and I think that scones with cream and jam would be easy too and won't require any prior preparation and they could easily be cooked the previous day!
