Is anyone interested in a cook-off? I know we have Bake-offs running but I should be on a diet :D
Thinkng a Cook-off is a much safer option for me :D

I was thinking we could have a kind of theme, or certain ingredient that your entry must have.... you can have as little or as much of the thing in your entry as you like.... ie. if the theme was "lemon", you could do something with a lemon glaze, or it could be as little as a squirt of lemon juice in a stir-fry...... so who is in?

I was thinking...... hmmm I'll come back with a theme :o

Is anyone in?

The theme/ingredient is LAMB and the closing date is Sunday the 27th of May!!!

Sounds like a great idea maybe we should have it that something based on the theme is visible though if that makes sense?

Kizmet
14-05-2007, 07:49 PM
itd have to be something visible , maybe we could make a stew or a casserole or lamb shanks or a pie or something that is all the same but can be judged on looks not taste ?

phineas

You can cook whatever you like! As long as it involves lamb :D

Monkey mum - what about a lamb-shaped something? It's just a lamb theme, doesn't have to have the actual lamb meat :D

Ok the theme is set, how about a closing date of 2 weeks, sunday nite? Will check what date that is and put it in the original post.

Of course post the pic whenever you've done it, you don't ahve to wait till then!

Here's mine, it's a bit of a lame (lamb:laughing: ) effort.
I cooked a beautiful roast lamb with garlic and rosemary but didn't get the spuds on in time (because I was stuck on the phone for and hour and a half trying to get my printer replaced as it died a week after I bought it......aagh  )

Never mind.....so the roast ended up in good old souvlakis with garlic yoghurt, salad and a twist of lemon, oh and stunning modelling from dh, ha.

So how exactly is it different from the Bake-off?? I feel, and I may be wrong, that the popularity of the Bake-off is waning a tad. Do you think having the Cook-off as well will get more participants? I'm up for it, but I just have reservations and need convincing, I guess.
