Can anyone tell me what Ghee is and where I would find it in my supermarket?

Ghee is a fat I think... I have seen it in the supermarket, but I can't remember exactly where... it comes in a tin.
I use oil or unsalted butter in it's place in the indian recipes I make.

Its just clarified butter..
The butter has been melted and then the two different compounds have been separated.. Its so it does not burn at heat like normal butter would after a while..
If you want to make it yourself simply melt some butter and let the two layers separate.. You will see rich yellow colour liquid and white fatty looking liquid.. pour off the rich yellow part and put in the fridge to set...
You are basically removing the milk fat solids and excess water..
There you have it.. just home made.. ;)
It does come in a tin and you will find it in the aisle with the oils or in the ethinic indian section, if you wish to buy it..
Hope that helps..
ETA- you can just substitute with oil if you wish but ghee gives a great flavour..

It's usually with the other Asian foods in the supermarket.
To quote the Maharajah's Choice jar in front of me "the properties of ghee allow it to be heated to higher temperatures than butter or oil without burning"
