Hi
I want to open up a savings account for my daughter in her name that she
can touch when she turns 18 yrs old.Where we can put regular savings in there
for her as well as other family members for birthdays e.c.t.
Does anyone have an account like that and what bank is the best and what
is the account called?
thanks

Hey Kelly
I set up an account for my bub @ Westpac - it's a savings account held in trust until he's 18. You don't pay any fees etc on it which is great. I gave the acc details to the grandparents as they wanted to give us money for things for Nathan, but I told them I'd rather it go into his account.
Hope this helps!
I opened up a dollarmites account for DD at commonwealth bank. each week $10 is transferred to her account from mine and $20 per maintenance payment. i figure by the time she turns 18, with that money and any added extras from family she will have quite a bit towards a deposit on her own home. not that i want her to leave home to early. hehe!

We did our boys accounts with St George, they have special accounts just for kids that don't incur the usual fee's.
Get some info from a couple of banks and see which one suits you best, just make sure you tell them it is for a child.
