Hi

I tried it the other day. I cant stand the taste of diet coke because of the nutrasweet. It was alright but it lacked that refreshing taste that coke gives.

from what I read it's diet coke but uses the coke formula so it tastes like coke :D

I bought some last night from Coles...it tastes like real Coke! But less sweet...and there's a slight artificial sweetener aftertaste...but it's better than Diet Coke! :)

It's funny you should mention it, i hadn't heard about it before until DH just bought some! I tried it and i completely agree with Darkstar, tastes just like coke with a slight artificial sweetener after taste!

oh coolies thanks guys i will definantly try it now :D

even though i am on a massive water kick at the moment sometimes you just gotta have some Coke...

Neaby - it will be the ok sweetner for you, the coca-cola company uses one for all their "diet" drinks thats alright in pregnancy

Yep, it's in a black labelled bottle or black cans.

It contains sweeteners 951 and 950, if that helps.

Yep, it's in a black labelled bottle or black cans.

It contains acesulphame potassium (950) and aspartame (951), if that helps.

In other words, saccharins and cyclamates (like Sweet'n'Low)

I'm converted! Tastes like coke but not so sugary and not as gassy as Diet coke. I always preferred Pepsi Light for that reason but now im going zero!:D Nice can too.

After reading this I think I'm going to have to try it. I'm a huge coke addict and often think I should try to give up as I can't stand Diet coke. Will keep an eye out for htis one.

Just purchased said drink - it is currently in the fridge getting cold. Can't wait.

Apparently it is pretty popular to the point that in our local Safeway the 1.25ltre were sold out within one day on shelf. Due to this they have tons and tons of 2litre bottles and the cases of cans - but still not 1.25ltrs yet!

Only another 1hr to go to try - how exciting.

(Oh I really need a life don't I if I'm getting exicted about a drink - and a non alchoholic one at that!!)

Thanks guys!!

I drink Diet Coke because Coke always leaves my teeth all yuck from the sugar!:( I will definitely be trying this one because the taste of Coke is so much better than Diet Coke!!!

Shouldn't have got that excited.

It does taste like pepsimax.

Wouldn't want to have it on a real hot day - not "refreshing" enough.

Still least kids can have it now.

Hi everyone...

funny you are talking about this - I just bought some today...

I could taste the artificial sweetner - however it's MUCH better than diet coke.

It has a very high sodium count though compared to drinks like pepsi max etc - I think pepsi max had about 4gms of sodium per serve, coke zero had 41!!! Ouch...

But still, I like Coke, but don't want the huge sugar intake... so I'll buy this over Diet Coke any day!

:D

I tried coke zero last night and i found it's very bland.

I would still prefer Diet coke over the zero anyday.

I agree with you Missunderstood:)

Im with Maxs_MumMy.. Its nice but i prefer diet coke. there is something about that aftertaste im not sure about and it doesn't have that buzz about it like the other stuff

I have to agree with some previous comments, it tastes exactly like Pepsi Max. Not as good as my beloved 'D.C'!

 I thought it was diet coke!! LOL My taste buds are a bit silly LOL

Well, as a 'coke addict' and avid coca cola collector I had to try it sometime.

I agree with everyone, the good and the bad. The aftertaste a bit... meh. But the taste overall is quite good.
I try to drink Diet coke but can't handle it... doesn't have the same 'oomph' that regular coke has. Coke Zero has that without the sugar.

So I'm switching now, hopefully for good :p

TwoBlue
09-01-2006, 15:46
so i have tried it now too and i reckon its pretty good !!

Much better than diet coke...
its not real coke thats for sure but i reckon i'll switch :)

I'm a little concerned with the amount of sodium in it...Pepsi and Pepsi Max has about 1/10th of the sodium that Coke and Coke Zero has... :(

TwoBlue
09-01-2006, 17:02
yeah it is alot... perhaps something to think about....

Mum2Bug

The level of sodium is something that concerns me too. I do find it funny tho that someone starts a topic on it and we all rushed to the shops to buy it. Hehe

Don't wanna be a wet blanket, but there are HUGE toxins in diet softdrinks....that increase the possiblity of cancers....Any type of nutrasweet is very bad on that level. Wish I could find the website that has a big blurb about it....anyway, the toxic substance found in fake sugar drinks and foods is called Aspartame. Check this out.......www.holisticmed.com

Take care :)

NOTHING could convince me to give up my diet soft drinks. They are my one vice.

These days everything "could" cause cancer...so until someone shows me the proof, I'm taking my chances.

Having said that, I haven't tried the new Coke :p

I agree!!

I am really sick of being told what is going to give me cancer these days....

No offence Electrajewel i am sure you have the best intentions :)
but if my diet soft drink wont do it then my hairdye will... or maybe my mobile phone??

drewid
15-01-2006, 20:33

15-01-2006, 20:49
I'm a 'normal' coke drinker, but tried it the other day out of curiosity and found it ok...better than diet coke by a mile, but doesn't taste like 'real' coke like it says.....I could put up with it though, just a matter of your taste buds adapting to it.

As for all the 'cancer causing' hype about everything, i agree! You gotta die of something! ;) Seriously...if we listened to it all, we'd be on a diet of well, i dunno really, consideriing just about everything has some kind of chemical or poison used in it to preserve and stuff these days.......

drewid
15-01-2006, 20:54
Yup, I'm soooo over mobile phones. These days its only used for the odd sms message!

TwoBlue

Shazbutt i think we would all die of starvation if we didnt eat all the stuff that was supposed to give us cancer
