dd 2 made a mothers day card for me at daycare, and the poem in it made me cry....it had her hand prints under it

Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls.

But everyday I'm growing
I'll be grown up someday
And all those tiny hand prints
Will surely fade away.

So here's a special hand print
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When i was very small.

how cute do their hands look...i think thats what got me... and the fact they always leave finger prints on the walls...usually in sauce... and i get angry.... but now im just going to smile...before i clean it:D

my mother showed me my hand prints with that same poem on it that i made for her when i was in kindy she held on to it for all these yrs.
im 21 and she is still holding on to my hand prints got to love mums:D

I got that one in a card from DS a few years ago & I was the same - its beautiful :yes: & oh so true. Us mums are pretty lucky to have our little people in our lives :D

I got the same thing from my DD from daycare too. I remember making one for my mum when I was in pre school so it was so sweet to be getting the same thing as a mum myself!

It's is the first present that I have ever gotten from DD that I havent known about before I got it.

It's one of those things that we will all keep forever!

That is so nice... I really miss the nice things the kids make at daycare... over here it's not celebrated in the way that it is in Australia, nor Fathers Day for that matter. The kids don't make gifts or cards for any occasion... how lucky you all are!

How sweet! My mum actually has that exact poem hanging on the wall from my brother when he was about 3 (hes 18now).......so I see it all the time ....not sure why it still made me cry!

DD1 made me the same one when she was 3.

And MY mum has the same one from when I was about 3 too!
I have Emily's in a photo album and my Mum has mine in one too!
It's a great keep sake.
