 How are you?

I asked Hilary today if she would be able to start a new section for Cloth Mums. A place were we can discuss cloth pads, menstrual cups, etc - and in the process, because it has it's own section, get a few of the others interested...!

So... did I do okay? Or would you like to stand in line to smack me in the head?

I think it is a great idea to have a cloth mums section - I was just wondering today why there wasn't one. lol

Hmmm, thought we had enough clothy sections, what do we need another one for?

It's a great idea having a broader thread rather than just nappies, etc. Legend Pobble :yelclap:

I guess having this one means that all threads about cloth pads etc are all in the one place, instead of having to trawl the cloth nappies section for threads about this stuff.

And I reckon it'll spark a bit more interest from those who might not go into the cloth nappy section. At least it'll allow them to explore the idea of it more, even if they don't convert.

I hope that makes sense. :D

Yep makes sense hun, that's true i guess there are only a handful of clothy threads for us mummies and you have to trawl through all the nappy posts to get to them, and ummm there is kinda a LOT of cloth nappy posts!

I think it's very interesting to learn more about it.

Nice one Pobbles! Thanks, now I have a soapbox to stand upon (my mothers group is getting a little sick of me talking about Auntflo!!!)

I'll put my hand up! I'm the proud owner of a Divacup which is my new best friend since AF returned after Phoenix was born.......

But I am yet to look into cloth pads. I love my cup too much tho so I don't need a new cloth addiction!

wow really? I'm going to get a special pack from RedRAgs in NZ and it contains:

2 liners, 3 regular pads and 1 mooncup (uk) for $100 NZ which I think converts to $88AU. I'm just waiting for them to get back to me because you have to email your order through.

I've also just order a Nice Knickers and Happy Heiny's pads both day time and night time ones.

Is your Diva cup easy to use? Has it ever leaked on you? Did you cut off the stem?

I'm thinking of a cup, but I haven't had a period since November (I -love- Implanon) so I don't know if I should go ahead and order one or wait until it's all said and done...

TBH I'm not too keen on cloth pads.. but then again, I'm not keen on pads at all

I only ever use my Divacup- no pads at all. My Divacup has leaked once, in bed, and it was because it overflowed. Which was weird but my flow has been very heavy since Phoenix's birth. Never used to be, but this is #3 since Dec 2005 so perhaps it will stop soon.

I cut the whole stem off, it was annoying and there are rings around the base which you grasp anyhow. It never sits deeply inside so the stem would be poking out halfway to your knee! lol well not really, but annoyed me!

I would have, but then too many people would have wanted dibs on first smack, wanted me off my laptop all the while thinking Mr Chicken was a cutie pants.

I asked the mods to move the recent threads to here, so have a look at the thread titled "Anyone use a Diva cup". It'll answer alot of your Q's.

Everyone's body is different. Some find they need the stem, other's don't. The cups are different sizes aswell, so a cup that works for one person isn't going to feel right for another.

I love my mooncup and I still have the whole stem on. I can only just feel the stem when it's in.

I felt the same! It was annoying me so I cut it shorter, and shorter, then lopped the whole thing off. Works a charm now and no annoying little rubbery thing

But I know some people leave the stem on, but most people I've spoken to lopped theirs off. I would do a poll but I doubt there are enough cup users on here to do it!
