Yay my first time EVER sewing!Check out the finished product!
I got a new sewing machine the other day and then went today to pick up some materials,mil showed me basics,then i started sewing.
The materials used were,inner flannelet(light blue)
out fabric flannelet (Thomas the tank engine) and a hidden layer of Wet look vinyl (pul).
I am so proud of myself i think i done so well seing as it was my first time ever sewing and my first nappy ever.:D:smiliedance:

I think I'm the only person in my family that doesn't know how to sew!!! Was thinking I would get myself a sewing machine and start a new hobby - learning to sew :laughing: Now that I see what you have done, I'm inspired!!

I just have a cheap $120 machine,couldnt justify paying anymore.
The materials i bought are from spotlight,I got 2 lots of flanelett one plain the other printed,i also got some fleece printed,and for the waterproof hidden layer i got wetlook vinyl.

I just attempted to make a pad i made up my own pattern and it failed lol :o
Wow, you did a terriffic job Jac!! Looks like a great fit on too!
I reckon i could do it if i could be bothered, i made a quilt once, but my mums sewing machine is a bit old and dodgy now. I'd love to know what kind of sewing machine you got for only $120 sounds like a bargain!

I've got a few pads here but I have no idea which one will be good as I haven't seen af for yonks. Happy to wait though :laughing:

Ds wore the Thomas nappy today and it stayed on for 3-4 hours and when i took it off it hardly gelt wet,but it was cause i could feel it,it had just soaked the wee up REALLY good.
I am so happy with my effort,next on my list is to buy a pattern.

I made another nappy tonight,i altered the pattern because the one i made earliar the tabs are a bit short.I made it with fleece this time and its so lush :)
So this is what the new nappy looks like

I used my Onix machine i got it from homeart and i got the pattern from wee weeka but i altered it a bit to suit my bub.
