I am trying to find different things to do with my 18 mth old.
I work 2 days a week have 3 days at home with her and by the last day she is bored.
We go the library and park at least once a week, go shopping together.
I'm thinking about taking her to a playgroup. How do you get into this and find a good one?
Is she old enough to get something out of an art gallery or muesuem?
I guess I'm looking for alternative things to do as I'm getting bored doing the same things.
Does anyone have any ideas??
Thanks

My dd is 22 months and very good at entertaining herself, I don't notice her being bored really.
We go to playgroup, music class and get together with friend once a week.
How about painting, playdough, indoor playcentre, beach(bit cold now), zoo or on the Gold Coast Currumbin Bird Sanctuary.
Where in Brisbane do you live?
My dd would run amok at a museum or gallery. But you might enjoy it.

We do playdough, painting, play in the yard etc. I'm just trying to get ideas for going somewhere or doing something different. Not as an everyday thing just a once every couple of months thing so that we have something to look forward too.
I'm on the far northside of Brisbane in the Sandgate region.
I do agree my DD would either get bored pretty quick at a museum or art gallery and then want to pull everything down or climb it LOL.
I guess it's more me getting bored then anything else.

I don't know that area well, what about monthly trips to the library story times, a drive down or up the coast, playcentre, etc. Maybe one organised activity out of the house and socialising with other mums would help.
I don't mean to pry but what about a hobby for you away from bub and hubby.

Maybe I should look into Playgroups. Do you know if they cater for 18 mth olds and new babies??
A new hobby is most likely what I need as I will soon need to give up my sport as #2 is due in Nov and only played until week 20 with DD1.
Maybe I'm just feeling down today as well, don't think that is helping me much.
Thankyou soo much for your kind ear Buzzing Bee.

I like to go into the city every now and then just to break up routine. There are soo many places that DS likes to go (and i enjoy it too) southbank, botanic gardens, roma st parkland, just wondering the streets of the city, going on a ferry trip just for something new.
You could try the playgroups Australia website (just google it) they have a thing were you can type in your postcode and it lists all the ones in your area.
