Hi all,
We are looking for a car seat (preferably convertible for newborn upwards), which will fit into our renault scenic and conform to Australian standards. The car has contoured seats and we found that most of the safe n sound models did not sit very well, even the compaq version. Are there any other makes of child seat out there that fit bettter or is the rolled up towel basically the only solution?
Thanks
Claire

We have a renault scenic and have the same problem. The current seat we are using (s&s) moves around a bit because of the contoured seats, so we have to keep the seat belts pulled firmly and readjust it every so often. A wider seat may span the dip a bit better as our narrower one (we have three kids across the back seat) slips in, good luck with the search.

Hi there,
It is recommended that you fill the dip with a towel or cloth nappy. You can from what I have been told buy a sort of filler like a pillow type thing. Ask at baby Co or another large store. If you still have problems look up your local NRMA, RACQ or such and ask them they also have or know of fitting stations that can advise you better. I had the same sort of problem and I had to basically fill the gap so to speak.
