Hi
My little boy seems like he always has a nappy rash. At the moment it is really red and spotty. I have tried Paw Paw cream, Daktozin, Zinz and caster oil but nothing seems to work. I think he is cutting his one year old molars. Does anyone have any magical cures? You help is appreciated!!!

My friend fed her DS cooled chamomile tea. Poor wee lamb

You could try some cornflour on the rash..
I swear by Vaseline. Even the no-name brand vaseline.
Oh, and as much nappy free time, and cool baths, as possible.
Red and spotty sounds like thrush to me. If you don't treat it propertly it just keeps re-accuring. Talk to the Chemist about a treatment cream like Canesteen. You have to use it for at least 2 weeks to make sure the trush has gone.

My first thought was thrush aswell. My daughter had this and i didn't know what it was for about 2 weeks (wasn't even that red just little pimples (about 10 of them). Mentioned the little pimples on her bottom to the community nurse and she said it could be thrush. Treated her with Canesten cream and it all cleared up OK. She had previously been on antibiotics a couple of weeks before this and that's what i think caused it. She also gets it in her mouth aswell. Now at any sign of rash, i use canesten as it is an antifungal cream so if the rash is fungal it kills it straight away.
Good luck and i hope it all clears up for you soon.

Hi
Thanks for that - I will try the Canesten cream and see how that goes. I thought it may have been thrush and he has just finished a dose of antibotics.

if it turns out to be nappy rash i swear by Dermaid cream 1% soft (pink)...
coby always gets a terrible rash after wearing disposables for too long so i use that and after a few applications it is gone!
but definately talk to the chemist!

My DS had a really bad persistant nappy rash, we took him to the docs and it turned out to be thrush as well, we used that Dermaid stuff plus another cream and it cleared up in about a week...
