View Full Version : the pill
I am a single mother but thinking of going back on the pill for convenience (ie. letting me know when my period is due) but also I guess in case I meet the right person.
I was on Trifeme but for obvious reasons, don't want to again. I got pregnant last time! I was wondering if you had any suggestions as to what contraception you would recommend? I don't want to put on weight (who does) so are there any out there that can combat this? Or are there any other options I may not have thought of?
As much as I love my baby, I couldn't handle another one right now!
OK I fell pregnant on the pill too and I was using yasmin and one of the midwifes at the hospital I go to is pregnant she used Yasmin too and there are 3 other girls who were all using it and yep you guessed it pregnant so I recomend you don't use that one lol
before I used yasmin I was on levlen ED and found it to be pretty good and it wasn't expensive $20 for a pack for 3 months..not sure why I changed Yasmin was costing me $60 for 3 months!

I was on Logynon ED. Never caused me an issue. There are sooo many pills out there, if you don't feel like it's working then ask for a different one.
I was on Brevinor for 11.5 years and I never fell but I started to become irregular with my periods (like every 2 weeks  ) and started to experience really really really bad AF pain.
I went to the docs' he changed me to Yasmin as Brevinor was starting to "wear off".
I had no problems with Yasmin....except it was expensive. So I changed again to Loette. But 3 months later I went off the pill altogether as I was getting married and planning a family blah blah blah.
You just have to give your doc as many details as possible so he work out which one MAY suit. You may end up finding you have to try a few before you find the right one that suits.
Good Luck.
You could try Implanon - a small bendy rod the size of a matchstick inserted in the inside of your upper harm. Very Cheap and Lasts for 3 years i believe.
I was on it and had no weight gains. I had no periods whatsoever. and never any cramps. Plus you dont have to remember to take something everyday. You can see it and its 100% affective (the only time it hasnt worked and someone got pregnant was becasue the doctor didnt realise he had droped the implanon and hadnt actualy put it in the girls arm.)
Good luck on your Choice.
